  • Willie Lee Brown is the Delta Musician who learned from, and played with Charlie Patton and then became best friend of Son House and played with him in Robinsonville - he died abount 1952, before the Blues revivial ... he is NOT Kid Bailey =)

  • THere were obviously 2 Willie Browns, one recorded earlier as both WIllie Brown AND Kid Bailey, this is the one who also was sideman to Charley Patton and R.Johnson among others who he worked with at the Dockery Farms Plantation. The second WIllie Brown is NOT the same person, much different style of playing AND singing. The second Willie Brown was recorded later on the Library of Congress recordings, I believe in the 40's.

  • Kid Bailey is heavyset "Will Brown" as Identified by Mr and Mrs Willie Moore -1967. (I have the audio on my page)

I also have THE "Willie Brown" being identified seperately.

  • @luvthatzeppelin My apologies, (Ledell Johnson, brother of Tommy Johnson and his wife are who identify "Will Brown/ Kid Bailey" in the interview from 1967

Willie Moore and Hayes McMullman identify and describe THE Willie Brown...

Sorry for the confusion... Check out the audio for yourselves.... Enjoy!

  • kid bailey isn´t willie brown. kid bailey is a phantom of blues. blues-researchers just found the name ki bailey on a schellac-plate.

  • The 2 guitar is willie brown

  • @Joe96220 willie brown is kid bailey

  • definitely not charlie singin maybe guitar

  • @sheilapatrick1 no he's singing and playing

  • i believe the vocals are charley patton... could be wrong

  • Some blues scholars think that this singer is in fact Willy Brown who accompanied Charley Patton, and who's also mentioned in Robert Johnson's song Cross Road blues.

  • @sleazyd1976 he also sings "ragged and dirty" that's on Youtube and well worth a listen

the "other" willie brown did future blues and m & o blues he has a distinctly more gruff voice and percussive method of playing the guitar

  • @suckingcat11 no your rite and he's also playing on guitar

  • superb !!!

  • Thanks man! That's a great record!
