And Montserrat is so warm and cozy, each time I listen to her I just can't help smiling, no matter if im at home, at work, or walking a street :) For me THIS is THE VOICE. I listened to complete recordings of Callas, and the voice is great of course, but there is less emotion in it, less feeling. For me - Callas sings with her lungs and throat, and Montserrat sings with her heart :) thanks for the comment :)

@voizovrsn btw, Montserrat was in Poland in December, I'm afraid it was one of her last concerts. She WANTS to sing, to move, but her body does not agree with her. Nonetheless, an absolutely wonderful event and the best christmas present I ever got :)

Decker is an amateur and not a very good one at that, who has screechy high notes, poor breathing techique, does not support the tone properly, ugly and uneven tone, and overall poor techique. hermosisima voz, y sobre todo es admirable como la ha conservado a pesar del transcurso del tiempo..recuerden a CALLAS se le deterioró en menos de 10 años, y doña Monserrat, a pesar de su edad, tiene una voz con una gran coloratura, con mucha tecnica y excelente tecnica de respiración....sin duda alguna una de las mejores exponentes vivas del Bell Canto...además tiene un excelente sentido del humor!!!

@notator9 Not sure whether we can blame Montserrat Caballé for the general hate that people have for opera or classical music. More often than not, people hate opera because a) they think is cool to say so; b) they've never listened to it properly or c) both of the above. You're entitled to your opinion though; Caballé is past her prime here, everyone can see and hear that, but I don't really think that's any cause for people to dislike an entire type of music.
