  • Great demo thanks

  • sigur ros like

  • @surrealsound Cool, thanks!

  • @surrealsound if so i dont even need to hear the demo....i want one!!

  • @surrealsound Thanks! :-)

  • @Passenger95 Could you maybe tell me how you get the sound at 7.21?

    thanks

  • @hafsteinn I think that was a volume swell into a long digital delay, a modulated analog delay, and then another shorter analog delay, with the pitch-shifted 2 octaves up POG on top. I think I also ran my hands along the strings for some added ambience. :-)

  • Nice bro! Ive had this thing for 2 years and its been collecting dust..I learned more about this from your vid in 7 min than I ever have. Im looking for the downtuned "stoner" vibe sound for a tune my band does thats nice and sludgy..kinda like the band Down or C.O.C..ang setting suggestions THANKS!! Nice work

  • @zw331 Thanks! And for that downtuned sound, this POG may work, as well as the Glass Nexus. :-)

  • Around 6:10 what are you using to get the swell effect (when the pog is off)

    Great demo!!!!!

  • @NathanJudge Thanks! I believe the swell effects in this video were a long delay (DC Timeline), three more delays to meld things together (another Timeline, Diamond Memory Lane, and Arion SAD-1), and then a volume pedal (George Dennis), and a phaser (Subdecay Quasar). :-) Have a great evening!

  • what type of reverb pedal do you have going there?

  • @cooliojoe562 I don't remember exactly, but it was probably a Damage Control Timeline delay at an ambient setting on a low mix. :-)

  • sweet demo!

  • @guitardude6464 Thanks! :-)

  • Is this or the Hog Better? I need some help can anyone help me out?

  • @posiedonpowertrio The HOG definitely has more options, but it also takes up a lot more space in order to take advantage of all those options. Also, in my humble opinion, the HOG sounds smoother if you like that, and the POG sounds a little more analog-ish, if you like that. :-)

  • TB?

  • @andy92811 I believe the newer ones are, but I don't think this one was.

  • would you happen to know the difference between this and the POG2?

  • @MadmanAcrossTheWater Ya, the POG2 is the same circuit, but with a swell function and presets. :-)

  • The POG is not analog,is all digital, check the schematic diagram, anyway good sound box!

  • @nachodelico You are correct. I misspoke, and there have been many comments on that. lol Thank you for your concern. Cheers!

  • Wow. This guy has the 1987 Edge sound down to an absolute science! Very nice!

  • hehe Thanks for the kind words. I try not to sound like Edge, but he's a major influence...so I guess I just can't get away from it. :-) Cheers!

  • It's probably explained on this damn video BUT I'll ask anyways. I got a used one of these crazy insane thigs in the mail used today. What does the three way LFO switch do? And am I correct in playing with this thing for an hour that it likes humbuckers better than telecaster single coils? Thanks friends!

  • Position 1 leaves your dry signal uneffected, 2 runs it through the LFO, and 3 has no dry signal. Or at least, that's how it sounds. Here's from the manual:

MODE 1: The Dry signal bypasses the LPF. The Q of the LPF is set to 1, low Q.

MODE 2: The Dry signal goes through the LPF. The Q of the LPF is set to 1.

MODE 3: The Dry signal goes through the LPF. The Q of the LPF is increased to 2.

  • Dude you've got a great sound! Both gear and style !! Great layers you've managed to create which I think is one of the most important features of this pedal.

  • Thanks for the kind words. And ya, I think the POG is the best octaver at layering. Cheers, and have a great night!

  • What effects (Specific pedals) do you use to do your swells? They are breathtaking. This is the best demo for the pog I have heard. I am getting one real soon. Most demos play untasteful riffs. The sounds you are getting are the reason I have always wanted this pedal. I knew it was capable of achieving absolute ambient beauty, but never heard anyone pull it off greatly before.

  • Sound is fantastic. Wish I never sold mine. This guy has a nice set up here.

  • Thanks for the kind words. And I wish I didn't sell mine either. ;-) lol

  • guitars are so awesome.

  • hehe Completely agree! Nothing much better than playing guitars. :-) Cheers!

  • @BLuEsHayZee

    BEST COMMENT EVER. THANK YOU.

  • Wow this is so amazing, did u know that Joe satriani 's been using it lately!

  • I did not know that! Very cool. Ya, it's a pretty rad pedal! :-)

  • It hasent been lately really because he used in on his super colossal album which was in 2006 and i dont think he has used it sins apart from in chicken foot a bit i think =p

  • Gotcha. Right on! :-) Nice to know that he has good taste. ;-) hehehe

  • Wow. Really glad I could help out a bit. It really is a great pedal! Thanks for the kind words, and thanks for watching! :-)

  • It's an analog gain section into digital pitch shifting.

  • Thank you! That sounds very right. :-) Cheers!

  • It's digital. The Octron is analog.

  • Another digital vote! hehe :-)

  • great, AND it's analog!

  • Ya, after that last comment, I looked it up and found conflicting reviews from different highly respected sites; some saying analog, some saying digital. The EH site is silent on it. It certainly sounds analog, but the amount of control it has over the different octaves is almost unheard of except in digital pedals. So.......hehe I'm still not sure. :-) Any inside information to help us out? Cheers!

  • great but it`s not analog!

  • Whoops, my mistake. :-)

  • Great demo!, I´ve seen PGS an EHX demos and yours is the best by far.Now I´ll buy the POG for shure.

  • Thanks for the kind words. The POG was a really cool pedal to demo. Lot of stuff in it!

  • you need to mess with the lp filter up and down on the 2nd and 3rd lpf modes. and i hate to be picky but u didnt even touch the input and dry output. thats a big part. your only using 1/3 of the pedel. anyways sorry if i sounded like a dickhead but i just might be one. anyways good job on the high octave play. you would be good at movie music. 4-5

  • Absolutely right. :-) But the video was long enough and I figured I covered enough to help people out as to whether they would like one or not. There's a ton of videos on youtube showing the POG's octave capabilities as they relate to straight rock; so I wanted to be sure I spent a good deal of time on its ambient synth capabilities. Something different, and I ran out of time for some of the other stuff. :-) Thanks for watching!

  • Hey, what pedals are you using to get those "Swell" effects?

  • Um, if I remember correctly, I was using a volume pedal, phaser, one delay set long with a lot of repeats, one delay set to an ambient reverb type effect, and then an analog delay set short to finish it off at the end. :-)

  • Ah I see your goal in this vid then. Well good job. You found some good sounds. But go figure im a rocker so I like the sub oct. and White stripes kinda sound lol. Well have a blast with the POG. I do.

  • Good times. Bet you get some really cool sounds out of this in the White Stripes vein. :-)
