Halo is played on a console with a controller. That means clumsy aiming and movement, the game compensates for this with magnet aiming. ie. auto aim.

@NOUFGT Actually that's aim-assist (magnet aiming). Auto-aim is more prevalent in stuff like Halo 2 where you blatantly miss your shot (i.e shooting a sniper next to someone's head) according to your crosshair yet the round still hits them somehow.

Skill-based matchmaking means that you're constantly playing against similarly skillful players and no matter what you're playing it on, you have to be accurate. If anything, it's easier to aim with a mouse, so it's harder and takes more practice with thumbsticks. Even with what LITTLE aim assist(which doesn't pull towards the head) the Mouse is still easier to use.

If you go into a FFA and play against 5 other people of equal skill as you, you have to 1) learn to adapt in situations where multiple people are trying to kill you and 2) You have to out perform people who are on about the same skilll level. And as you get better and start beating people on your level, you will move up to higher levels of skill until you get to the highest tier of players. In CoD you play total randoms. It's easy mode.

I have been playing on PC for about 2 months, and my aim is already better on PC then it was from 10+ years of playing on console... Sure, there are plenty of players that have better aim on PC then me, but I am closing the gap much faster than I would on thumbsticks.

And you can't compare the skill of PC and Console players. They're totally different and skill is relative

Also here's a little story. A decent UT player I know played COD4. He constantly got banned for hacking when playing legit. So he got annoyed and installed some hacks. He got banned less when hacking then he did when he played legitimately. He even had an admin spectate him and say "no he's not hacking".

We need a new Arena FPS. Unreal, Quake, idc which.

@mousiehamster Yeah, that's possible. One of the most used enemymodel, keel/bright can be heard very good when running and especially jumping. But it's not always sound cues. Some players are good enough to anticipate the next steps of an opponent and plan/shoot accordingly. And well, some of those frags are a lot of luck, of course ;)
