V40 is an excellent car -more stylish and unique than the new V50. Obviously it's missing some of new gadget found in the V50, but overall its a better and more consistent design. It has traces of the the original Volvo lines, that has evolved since the mid-60's. The V50, ufortunately lacks this and is more like "just a nice car".

E possiamo dire che è tutt'ora un bel macchinone, ne ho presa una identica stessi cerchi anche per 1.500 euro un anno fà e il 1.9 turbo diesel da grandi soddisfazioni, abbinato alla costruzione solidissima che ha, mi immagino nel 97 quanto potesse rendere orgogliosi i possessori!!
certo, io posseggo il 2.0i con gli stessi cerchi anche... e da guidare è davvero molto divertente come macchina... anche perchè i 140cv si sentono parecchio :) nulla da dire... è sempre stata una gran macchina...!
yeah I like them but I REALLy don't like the fact they're based on a mitsubishi platform even though they're still safe and volvo "tweaked it" still gross

Yes,same me.Now if o will change Volvo v40 I will change on Volvo v50 or v70.I love Volvo cars.

great car. never had a volvo till i got my v40. now i wouldn't get another car. very comfortable drive and very reliable!!
