One of the BEST ninja games. So different. And folks, if you can, hook an actual TurboGrafx up to tube tv and watch it really shine. You really get the ruby-esque quality of the graphics in a crt.

And man, I love how the bosses sound when they finally explode. You really feel like you kicked their tails.

I had this game for the Turbografx-16, and it was great. I don't think I ever beat it, not even on PC-Engine mode, but I got close a few times. So the main character's name is Tsukikage, or Moon Shadow, as it were. Didn't know that before. Neat =)

Might possibly be one of THE greatest retro games ever. The graphics , the arcade gameplay , the music , the sound effects. This video does'nt even do it full justice. I just can't say enough.

AAARRGGH! That's how it's done! When I was younger I would play this game to the last level so many times and I would always get my ass kicked by the cliff falling part. Now that I've seen it, the ending was lame and I would have been pissed off if I beat it anyway...

The level of diffculty in this game could be hard or easy depending on how you play it. My older cousin would lose his cool win he died and it caused him to make mistakes in this game. I just found it hard because I didn't want to take on the harder boss that he took on after the third stage.

Yeah, rage is the enemy of all video game players. It's my greatest advesary. Especially with god of war on the hardest level :-). With this game, the cliff dive was very aggravating until I figured out where the gaps were.

Wow, wicked speed run. I always thought this was better then the old Ninja Gaiden's. One of the best arcady-style Ninja's ever. My only 2 gripes: The boss's were way too easy to beat (when you consider how evil some of them looked), and the falling bit at the end is just unnecessary.

this was one of my favorite games, but I'm shocked you guys found it hard. I always thought of it as one of the easiest games I had. I beat it the first time I played it, like Bonk's Adventure. Did you guys have the turbo buttons turned on??

and also when I get to the final stage when i have to jump down the pit where the ninja are I'll make sure to stay to the left so I don't get hit

I agree, I made it to that part about 20 times and only through once or twice. I never beat that boss. I wish I new he was the last one! I would've totally played a few more times before getting hooked on Genesis lol

I just got it for the wii now and your more awesomer than me in it I'm having problems getting pass stage 4 I always get myself killed from those guys with the ropes and even if I get to the 3rd screen I'm sure I'm gonna get myself killed from the ceiling coming down on me

I'd like to see this done on MAME. In the arcade version if you get hit once, you die. Not 5 times like this video.

I have the MAME version. I also used to have this for the Turbografx 16. This is a great port. Almost, if not completely identical.

Toneman played this on the PC Engine mode. If you switch to the arcade mode it's one hit and you're dead. Also the bosses are harder and there is a better ending.
