  • Tires are everything

  • Really guys but if he had Detroit lockers installed it would be a real 4 wheel drive and not just have the one wheel spinning so don't waste your time or mine have a nice day

  • incline or not jeeps rule

  • LMAO thats funny

  • Josh's dad couldn't afford some good tires because he's piss poor.

  • JUSTIN IS LIKE...''AWW FUCK YOUUU...I'M OUT OF HERE...'' HAHAHA

  • Don't get me wrong i hate chevy truck/ dodge truck for off reading but they are great truck but then they are alot better alternative such as the Mitsubishi canter. Anyway back to topic first of all tires always matter when going off road so wrong tires you get stuck. Next thing the jeep already has momentum thus it's easier for it to acquire the moving force it needs. There alot reason i can put here why this proves nothing. Simple get a Land cruiser or Land rover 110 defender for offroading

  • how come everyone cusses other people behind a computer, my guess they dont want their ass kicked if cussed face to face

  • its a shame ill bet he spent twice as much for that truck too:p

  • This is funny and everything, but y'all are retarded if you don't think the incline was not a big part of the problem. His big mistake was driving so far forward because he was afraid to hit that basketball hoop.

  • Tires? What tires you have on the jeep that was made for mud and snow? What tries do you have on that heavy fat pig ford truck, that was made for highway towing?

  • my chevy makes it through snow that deep in 2wd. tires help though.

  • Yeah.. try pulling a load with that little pussy shit haha.

  • @yeahletsdothisnow I can pull fully loaded hay wagons with my CJ, what's your point?

  • @l337pwnage My point is that people say that jeeps can do anything a truck can do but let's be honest they can't. Can they make it through a tiny, secluded trail that some pickups can't? Sure... but they still lack numerous qualities such as being able to hall a legitimate load.. and the fact that you are proud that your yj can handle a full load of hay tells me that I'm right lmao.

  • @yeahletsdothisnow Um, CJ, but close enough.

And jeeps technically are trucks, that is what my title says anyway.

You'd be surprised what a jeep can pull:

    /watch?v=pKyDmIsQSow

And I think you don't understand how heavy hay can be, lol.

Jeeps, the small ones anyway, aren't gonna haul heavy loads a high speed, tho. They aren't designed for that.

Because of modern highway speeds, they've lowered the ratings by over half, even tho jeeps now have more power than they ever did.

  • @l337pwnage Yeah, exactly my point lol. They aren't really 'trucks.' And they won't ever live up to the pickup standard I'm afraid. And hay is no match for a 91 stock 460 ford v8 engine lol.. but for a jeep it's maxing it out.

  • @yeahletsdothisnow Actually traction was my biggest problem.

Jeeps are, in fact, 1/4 ton trucks, comparing it to a 3/4 ton 460 pick up is silly, lol. I'm researching as to if they ever came in a 1/2 ton, but they are rare enough even in 3/4 tons.

    Stock '91 7.5 L V8 1988–91 230 hp

Not exactly setting the world on fire. Stock, my CJ was 1/2 that, but even then, I ran out of traction before engine.

The big difference is high speed stability due to wheelbase.

  • @l337pwnage Yup, my point exactly. I wish all other jeeps also got the fact that jeeps aren't pickups and cannot compete with them. It's a completely different ball game.

  • @yeahletsdothisnow Yup, pick-up trucks haul things on the road, Jeeps haul things off the road, which was kind of the pointed out in the video.

However, if you live out in the sticks, its not as big of a deal to use Jeeps on the road as long as you have your slow moving vehicle sign on.

  • @l337pwnage jeeps don't hall nothin lol.

  • @yeahletsdothisnow You ran out of gas, just like your 460. Don't worry, I can tow you with my Jeep. ;)

  • @yeahletsdothisnow Oh hi. It's called a transmission cooler and air suspension. 4" of lift and the towing capacity of your half ton. All for half the price.

  • @0Ubiquitous0 Oh hi. Come at me with real stats please lol. You're out of your fuckin tree if you think any of that would put it at a fraction of a pickup. Try hauling more than your little cupcake ass.

  • All of you are wrong. Its about tires. I would bet the kids jeep has good all terain tires and dad probably has stock LT all seasons.

  • Jeeps have an advantage in there 4 wheel drive. Some jeeps have 4 wheels distributing/getting power. Rear 2 wheels pushing while front 2 are pulling vs. the common 4 wheel drive (like the truck in the video) which works with the 1 rear tire and the 1 front tire with the least traction gets all the power. in that case you have only 1 wheel pushing and 1 wheel pulling. Thats why if you have a locker/posi rear in it, It makes most 4 wheel drive trucks into monsters in the snow/mud like the jeep.

  • jeep had chains...4x4 is still 4x4...doesnt matter the make

  • better weight distribution!!!

  • this is why snowblowers are better than shovels

  • Ok. Now compare loading 5 adults and towing 8,000 lbs. Rolls would be reversed

  • Bahaha!!! Should be thinking about selling this vid to jeep for there next commercial!!

  • My Ford don't get stuck.. Must be Chevy only..

  • @92MustangLover

    Chev and dodge!

  • All the people saying the jeep isnt better need to be honest with themselves. A jeep does better in the snow than a pickup does, tires and the shorter wheelbase help, the jeep could have easily backed up that hill, they have a better 4lo than most pickups and are just beast. Yet another example of why jeeps are better if you want to see more just watch a couple offroad videos and stop whining.

  • JEEP RULES

  • btw im sure chrysler owns them.

  • Its why my brother owns one :D

  • both trucks are made by the same people. jeep has knobbier tires.

  • @Mockingbird5150 Looks like a chevy pickup. That's made by chevy not chrysler.

  • @rorschach775 looks like a Dakota

  • @Mockingbird5150 that is made by Chysler

  • @Mockingbird5150 Never realized how similar the two were. I think the rear mirror looks more chevy than dodge though. The tail lights on a dakota are more sculpted, not flush against the side and the front quarter panel isn't flat. But it is pretty hard to tell.

  • @rorschach775 no worries. you may be right but my first impression was that it was a dakota. can't compare better snow tires and locking diffs to that pickup.

  • theyre both a fucking dodge product....

  • or its just the fact that his dad is driving a dodge.... problem number one.

  • Tires are definately an issue here. I pretty sure my 2005 Xtrail would have gone out of this easily

  • Yep, the best selling truck in America. Gets owned by the cheapest priced 4x4.

  • Tires

  • shoulda just floored it forward and pulled around going 50

  • need better tires and weight in the back. the pickup is also trying to back up. it has nothing to do with the jeep being better.

  • @117nathanmyers You must drive a dodge.

  • @ctlucas93 I don't... I drive a 74 FJ40 with a chevy 350, 95 4runner with solid axle swap and a 66 mustang with a 302 stroker. I also fly a cessna 172 not that it matters. I don't own a dodge and never have.

  • This should be named why Josh's dad should get better tires. This is a very bad comparison.

  • this is the dumbest thing i've ever seen.. pickup trucks don't have any weight in the back, therefore they have bad traction in the snow.. i didn't need a video to tell me that

  • @jamcam321 Or maybe its because its a dodge. If it would have had a limited slip like the Jeep it would have moved further. Thank you and fuck off!

  • @SpankyShooter

    fuck u dude

im goddamn 16 and dont got my license and take my dads truck for joyrides all the fucking time

even out into the woods 90 minutes away from my house

my dad got stuck in one puddle about a foot deep once, I never been stuck, even in the same fuckin puddle. Because I ain't stuck till some1 is pullin me out with a tow chain. learn yo shit 'fore u go runnin yo mouth.

Cuz even if yo mouth writes the check, yo ass might not be able to cash it

Go back to driving your goddamn

  • @themeatful whoa! we got a real badass over here!

  • @themeatful hey remeber me bud... i know you dont like people like me, but i was driving in the snow today and saw a 98 2wd pickup in the ditch. reminded me of you. ps. just wanna say your a douche that is all.

  • Why would you just drive by? Pull the poor guy out!

  • big deal jeep is on flat and driving forward....

  • I love my Tacoma. but Jeeps are cool....

  • ill take a truck over a jeep anyday

  • tires have alot to do with it. also weight in the snow. Last it was up against a toy. my toy would have stoped that jeep into powder without the locker.

  • That is why i own one, i cant wait for the snow!

  • yea your right the jeep isnt backing up a slight incline, hes just plowing over a foot of snow! thanks for watching!

  • should be a Jeep commerical

  • Jeeps are unstoppable. It's not an accident Americans have been in love with them since WWII.

  • Jeep driving forward on flat land vs. pickup truck trying to back up an icy hill. Yeah, real good comparison.

  • @hpiguy accept the fact that jeeps are better

  • @hpiguy he'd have done better backwards

believe me i own a tj its easier to go through snow backwards

  • @hpiguy if by "hill" you mean a 5% incline then yes, its on a big hill.

  • @hpiguy yea its hard to reverse on ice uphill, especially in trucks. i bet if he was turned around he would've pulled out fine.

  • @hpiguy Icy hill? More like CLIFF FACE OF MT EVEREST. What a piece of shit comparison right?

But yeah pickups suck in the snow.

  • @hpiguy Maybe its just me but I dont see this so called hill you are talking about, the dodge is on flat land too and the snow around the truck has actually been shovelled away a bit

  • @lilbuckranger8 The truck is facing the lake, which is downhill. It's hard to tell grade in a video, but the truck is easily facing downhill as the front tires are lower than the rears. Either way, it's a bad comparison.

  • @hpiguy Oh shit, yeah that is a lake sorry bout that, were you there when they recorded this? If you didnt point that out I probably would have never know the difference

  • @lilbuckranger8 Nope, wasn't there but I've seen stuff like this before. I like Jeeps (personally own an FJ), but this was just a poor comparison on different areas of driving.

  • @hpiguy Yeah, i guess it is, thought the jeep wa definitely showing up the dodge but its really no comparison

  • @hpiguy LMAO!! Yeah thats a really steep hill...not

  • @hpiguy LMFAO!! No its a slight incline nowhere near being classed as a hill you fucking retarded motherfucker

  • @hpiguy Aww.. it looks like your the one who is mad by the way people have responded in the comment voting kid.Keep playing with your RC cars FAGGOT and i will keep playing with my REAL jeep GC Hemi motherfucker hahahahahahahahahaha!!

  • @SANTACLAUSESUCKS Yes, having 10 usernames makes you awesome to vote down comments you don't like. You don't own any Jeep of any kind. You're full of shit. It's sad that you have to sign up so many names to act like you matter in the world. You are one lonely loser.

  • @hpiguy HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! YOU MAD ?

  • @SANTACLAUSESUCKS no offence but you're acting like the child in this situation. Every comment you have said has been immature and just flat out not funny. I doubt you own any car so just go troll on some other video kid.

  • @Dowdproductions ROFLMFAO!! Yeah ive just read some of your comments, you hate blacks, you say youve been a bugatti veyron at top speed,Gays celebrate 9/11 like it's christmas,@ShadowManV3 Even your mom doesn't agree?! Who the fuck cares your mom's probably a fucking whore who doesn't know anything. Tell her to get the fuck back in the kitchen!Oh and my favorite one.. The 458 is the entry level Ferrari. It's like getting a civic instead of an accord because the cheaper civic is the `proper car`

  • @hpiguy haven't you ever played gta:sa? you can drive up hill backwards with ease on that game. It would obviously be the same in real life.

  • Dang! That Jeep looks like it almost had to kick it into 4 wheel drive.

  • perfect vehicle......mine 2005 x 4 inch lift 33'' tires...paid 15000 new just lifted go anywhere do anything

  • Subarus are better in snow

  • Comment removed

  • @kc8ntp We're all bias to our own cars....but, Subarus have SYMMETRICAL all wheel drive and a stronger COG but Jeeps do not. Jeeps get worse gas mileage and can strip a front strut completely because of those things. Nonetheless I would take either cuz they're both sweet

  • @ferrari1795 Actually, you are wrong about the gas mileage. My XJ has a few mods and I get 28mpg highway (this is with the 4.0l, too, BTW). Also, I have had 7 XJs and never had one get worse than 22mpg highway. And, out of the 7, none had any major issues before 300,000-miles. No, I like the Subaru for what they are intended for... they are just not going to do what my XJ can; no way in hell are you going to drive one through 2-3ft of snow!

  • @ferrari1795 I will be honest, I LOVE the Subaru Impreza WRX. I have not found too many cars that get as good of gas mileage, are as fast while doing it, and handle the road so well while doing it. No, the WRX is not the best in any of these, but is the best when you consider all 3. Again, though, no Subaru can ever go where I do with my Jeep XJ, period; unless it is sitting on 10" of lift, lol.

  • @kc8ntp I understand. However, if you're getting 2 to 3 feet of snow in 12 hours, it might be more economical to buy a Ski-Doo lol

  • My parents both owned jeeps I grew up with them my whole life got to love Jeeps

  • I had a Jeep Wrangler TJ 2.4L MY '05 and it was like a little tank!!! Few electrical parts and great mechanical resistance.. Now I have a JK Unlimited Rubicon 3.8L , I got it new 3 years ago and has always been problems.. For me are the most beautiful Jeep ever made, I love it, but it's not like an old Jeep!!!

  • @Pipposk88 yea ... Jk is awesome to look at but not built the way jeeps used to be, sad fact !

  • looks like the truck is on ice.

  • the new jeep is fucking useless.. its so damn sad....

  • @061323980 true. Have you heard of the J8? The new miltary jeep with a d60 rear and d44 front? its damn nice and HD!

  • @061323980

cracks me up when people say new jeeps are shit... ill out wheel you any day with my jk bro! This guy was telling me how his cj would out wheel mine til he got stuck about 6 times in this trail and i never has when a close call! ps that was before my 4inch suspension with 35s!

  • @arodgerson i dont say the new jeep wouldnt pwn a bmw x5 or shit like that but in comparisment to the old awesome jeep.. hes shit... but to be true i dont own the new jeep just a friend of mine.. i got a pajero...

  • @arodgerson Maybe, but what your JK needs 35s to do, my XJ will do better with 31s. Seen it time and time again.

  • @061323980 exactly they trying to make them look like cadillac's now adays and not stay true to what they were built for OFFROADING

  • @061323980 Exactly they build them like Cadillacs now adays they should just stay true to there heritage which would be offroading

  • @061323980 every JK hater is ignorant or jealous...CJ's to JK's have areas where they excel and fall short. There is no such thing as a perfect vehicle

  • @MMAengine10 I am not a fan of the JK, but they do well in certain situations. My XJ does better in some situations: like climbing steep hills, descending steep hills, and flexing over large rocks and ledges; and where a JK needs 35s, my XJ can do the same on 31s! Oh wait, the XJ is superior! I would still own a JK before I would a POS Chevy!

  • Anyone want to buy my Jeep?

  • @2012goingNutz funny comment in this vid lol

  • its because of the hill -_-

  • i love how people are fucking like OH IF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED ahh bull shit bull shit jeeps always, were, and are the best.

  • love it!

  • Manual Transmission!!

  • only fags get jeeps

  • @bvaughan410 you must drive a ford huh...lol

  • @ashland82391 ok ill admit 70's jeeps are nice but newer ones nah and yes i do on 38s and 460 big block

  • @bvaughan410 yeah the cjs were really nice, I personally have a yj. The ones im not so fond of are the pussy ones like the liberty, patriot, and now the new cherokee that looks like a crossover.

  • @ashland82391 i liked the scramblers in 70's put a 350 in it so powerful

  • @bvaughan410 oh yeah, i have a little 2.5L 4 cylander but I plan to put a 350 in it later in the future. That is also the great thing about the yj's because you can drop vertually any engin in there with all that extra space.

  • @ashland82391 i like power under the hood lol

  • @bvaughan410 Just mad cause you don't have one...

  • @vidman180 nope im not cause my truck aint a pussy it can go through snow unlike that one and it would out run and tow a jeep

  • @bvaughan410 Maybe so... I didn't say anything bad about your truck. But Jeeps are still awesome vehicles and your comment just seemed kind of pointless. Again, I'm not saying anything bad about trucks, just your comment. haha

  • @vidman180 and if you had read my comment before smartass i said i like 70's jeeps but i will add the scrambler was my favorite

  • @bvaughan410 Well if you do in fact like 70's Jeeps, why did you say "only fags get jeeps"? Like I said before, your comment just seems kind of pointless.

  • Title said it all. Jeep 4 life!!!!

  • Where was this?

My truck wouldnt get out of their either lol.

  • Nice, plowing without a plow, go Jeep!

  • this video is like the ultimate mock to the pickup ... poison my happy I have a 06 jeep grand cherokee limited AWD with a 3.5 suspension lift.... Lmao

  • when all else fails hang Iron

  • CLASSIC!!!!

  • I am a jeep fan! However GMC Sierra's weak spot is loose terrain (sand, snow etc). I work at a GMC dealership and they are great trucks. Can tow a lot and have a good ride. However they are EXPENSIVE! Therefore... get a jeep :P

  • @porschefan102 says the porsche fan

  • Different tires and the jeep wasn't trying to back up a hill

  • @flight2k5 1% incline isnt a hill.

  • @redbulljoker in snow and ice that makes a difference

  • @flight2k5 you get more torr\que backing up due to it's low gear ratio

  • @ShackTHEPyroFromHell thats obviously not a lack of torque.

  • @flight2k5 well, not technically, it's a lack of traction, which means uncontrolled torque doing nothing for you, and and the faster the tires spin, the less torque they have, torque and horsepower are related but not interchangable, he had more horsepower than he did torque, great example M1 Abrams tank, a vehicle i operated for 5 years, had a 1500 turbine horsepower engine, had almost no acceleration at all, topped out at 43 mph going downhill. the engine produced 0 torque, but ...

  • @flight2k5 the Isreali merkava tank, uses a diesel piston engine, with the same horsepower, and has infinitely more torque than my beloved machine, and could go up steeper slopes, had better acceleration, slightly faster top speed and is a heavier vehicle than the abrams, torque is what makes things move, horsepower is what makes them move FAST.

  • @flight2k5 Rubicans come with locking differentials as well. Makes a HUGE difference. I've had a 4X4 pick-up and now have a Jeep. Jeep is WAY better at getting in, out, and through.

  • Spunked on the truck!

  • the jeep had AT tires...it looked like the truck had all seasons or highway tires...not the best for snow. also consider the weight difference. that truck probably weighs a few thousand pounds more

  • It's all about tires.

  • In all fairness, the truck did not have a limitted slip rear differential. If it had the e-locker, or a True-trac, it would have pulled out just fine.

The Jeep comes standard with the Trac-Loc rear differential.

I had an older XJ Cherokee from '91, and it could through snow easily with that LS Trac-Loc rear diff.

  • @PatriotCondor In all fairness, if the truck had tank tracks it wouldn't be stuck, but it doesn't so it was.

  • forget about the Dodge, get a Jeep or a Toyota. It's science!

  • LOL Epic

  • bitched

  • the jeep has a rear locker whereas the dodge has an open diff......open diffs are the problem

  • I'll start by saying I like Jeeps, But...

obviously a 4WD Jeep would have no trouble through snow while a rear wheel drive truck with no weight to provide traction would struggle. It's science.

  • @joyancey that, and a jeep is a jeep.

  • @joyancey you are right about rwd sucking in snow, but if you actually watched the video, that truck was actually 4x4. nice try

    .

  • @joyancey do you not see that the truck has 4wd too dipshit?

  • @joyancey jeeps are lighter durr ta durrr

  • LOL , so true ! Jeeps are awesome all the way around in all weather conditions. Probably why they were the most commonly used back in ww1 and 2 . I am real interested in what Fiat is going to do with the jeep . Hopefully .....not ruin it !!

  • @rgary75 jeeps weren't built till ww2

  • pretty funny

  • why are there so many jeep haters haha damn, people need to relax

  • @smidet Why? Because people hate what they envy and secretly want! Go Jeep!

  • Love my Jeep!

  • haha i love this soo much. pretty funny. love my jeep

  • What bull that truck is stuck because it's got crappy factory tires on it....if you changed to a good set of all season radials or mud and snows then that truck would have blasted out of that snow oh and jeeps suck monkey nuts by the way

  • the reason the ram is stuck is its stock and he is trying to back up, doesnt work so well all the time. the jeep made er out cause he drove it straight out, any idiot can do that in any vehicle

  • well there is the reason joshs dad gets stuck its a dodge I could get through that with my half ton ford 1988 like nothin.

    Trav

  • Josh's dad can haul half a ton of whatever he needs to, While Josh ran home to get the trailer.

Josh's dad can take 4 other people camping, Josh had to make two trips to get all 5 of them there and another for all the gear

Josh's dad can do 90 mph in his truck, Josh tops out at about 75.

A subaru would do exactly the same thing as well
