  • hey, 3 envious people took a little look at this!

  • Good job friend! Really good job...

  • Haha if they thought you were copying Tommy with the doodly doos then they've clearly never been around you when you play, you do that ALL the time :)

  • @LauraMSpence Tommy does too!!!! :-)

  • You think you're human dont you? Skynet made a damn terminator that can play the guitar, YOU GODDAMN MACHINE!@%()*!@&%ASLKFJ.

    We're losing this war.

  • At least you loose yourself in your music, hope you can fix the vocal issues in your recordings though.

    Thumbs up and good work.

  • you're my guitar hero adam lol :)

  • Nice version and tone. I don't mind the vocals lol.

But you're getting more hits than Tommy's versions...stop it!!!!

    ...hehe.

  • Nice!!! Keep it up!

  • close, great job.......but I think it needs the tempo up to maintain the passion of the original

  • Tommy Emmanuel is the master, my master actually. good job and keep groovin like you do on your different cover :)

  • @bleusswissbless Yes Tommy is the master, no question. That's why I spent hours learning this :-)

  • Lovin the slower tempo. I can ALMOST get the main riff.

  • its so funny in the backround he does everytime "didelideldidleing" ^^

  • @dafunghi On my newer videos I am trying to REDUCE the vocal...sorry! I usually play amped, and the mics make this a new problem...

  • @crescentridge

theres no need to reduce it :D it seems very friendly :D

    btw nice playing :P

  • @dafunghi that's soul brotha!

  • Yeah, I liked it. This song really flops if it's not played with lots of energy and intensity. I think you did that pretty well for a living room audience Adam. ;-)

  • Some of these runs remind me of the legendary Al Dimeola. I was fortunate enough to see him live almost 30 years ago. He would just sit on a chair and tear up an acoustic guitar. The picking is so clean. That's what separates good from great. Great stuff!

  • Let me pick my jaw up off the floor real fast.

  • Play some more brother!!!!!!

  • Go Adam! Love that one.

  • I like how you put your own touch on a T.E. classic, you have my ultimate respect.

  • @mushroomz88 amen to that.

  • pretty difficult =)

  • wow the focus of the camera isn't able to stay with the speed of your fingers.. congratulations from italy

  • grandissimo !!

  • great playing!

    just stop singing along!

  • Nah. Perfect. Singing and all. Masterful!

  • That's inevitable!!

That't just how he feels the song......

  • haha this is great!

  • You are funny guy :P Nice playing 5/5.

  • very nice. and you have wonderful guitar :)

  • You made my night!!!

  • Wonderful!!!

  • u have an own style of doing this, very nice

  • just amazing!

  • bravooo felicitari congrads from Romania

  • Hats doffed to you cresentridge...that was a great performance of a masterpiece! youve even got tommy's headshake down too a tee!!! excellent work pal!

  • That Tony Enamel guy is alright at the guitar to I hear :-o

  • Sounds good to me! Finally, somebody covering this song well... this was inspirational... time to pick up my guitar. Thanks! Loved this rendition....

  • you should just do a vocal performance :) very nice

  • Damn good my friend. TE would be proud.

  • Wonderful!!! Great energy on this piece, and great flatpicking technique. I so enjoyed this!!!

  • The pest performance Iheard and saw; after Tommy of course!:-))

Thanks for the interview with Tommy!

    Willem (Netherlands)

  • Very nicely done!!!! I'm impressed!

  • This is amazing :) i'm learning it now

it's so fun!! your are awesome Adam!

Hope one day to meet you!

  • man... really good cover.. this must be a really difficult song to do... so nice one!

  • Masterful technics wrapped in love!!!---Amazing!!! Thank you Adam!!!

  • haha i like how you sing along .

its a different version to tommys which is good cause you want to make it your own by doing a cover .

but ofcourse nothing can beat the original . ;)

tommy is the best . but extremely brave and talented for you to attempt to cover the song. its great !! keep it up

  • not as good as tommy tho....but keep up the good work...

  • there is NO ONE goin to be as good as good as TE......NO ONE,EVER

  • you play is awesome! thank you!

  • People are criticizing you? Crazy.

You nailed that dude! Really good.

It's all about the playing that counts. You like you're having fun!

    Keep jamming! (:

  • I cant belive guys critisize you here. You are amazing. How about playing some of your jazz with a jazz guitar like you used to play ?

  • good stuff, ur gettin there. stop singin it though! sounds like ur tryin to be tommy by doin that. just comes off cheesy

  • Oh man, I know. You are 100% right. I actually have been recording my new CD and when I hear the grunting and singing it makes me cringe. That's a bad habit I got playing in LOUD bands with drums....in those situations vocals could not be heard. Now with the acoustic they are too loud. I gotta bite my lip!!! Thanks for listening!!! - AR

  • no probs. do you know where i could find a tab to this? i wanna learn this myself.

  • You have that scale-sounding lick down to a fine art - any tips? It's killing me, I have the rest of the song pretty much perfect, but I can't get that lick to sound fluid and it takes away from the whole performance.

  • \m/ O_O \m/

  • need work more the right hand, improve your rithym

  • very good but agree with calou2005.

  • i really like that guitar sound, is that a taylor?

  • Very good work on the song, but don't try and doowop while your're playing it. The guitar sounds 10 times better than your doodly doo sounds.

  • Dude I agree. I had a recording session the other day and literally had to tape my mouth shut. Yes, with tape. Bad habit I developed playing in loud electric situations where the amp blared my voice out. Of all the nutty things I need to practice!

  • I totally DISAGREE (with all due respect, of course). Adam's "doowop" "doodly doo" coloration is as unique as Michael Jackson's...uhhh, whatever-you-call-it. It's Adam's "artistic signature" and I think he should let it happen naturally. Would you suggest to Joe Crocker that he not go into his epileptic jirations while singing? Of course, not, because it's his trademark. Keep it up Adam... No tape required (by the way, you have permission to use that as your next album title).

  • actually, the point was that he was using tommys signature by doin that. not that im hating here. he did a great job. im still struggling to learn this one. ill get it in about a year lol

  • Uhh.... Oh... Never mind. I guess I wasn't familiar with the song. I could've at least showered before putting my foot in my mouth. Good luck with the song.

  • Hey y'all! I have been playing for 33 years and been doing the doodly doo stuff 20 years before I ever even heard of Tommy. I do it on my first jazz CD that I made in 1993 called "First Impressions". It is a blessing and a curse because it does not sound good now in the studio. To think that I am imitating this aspect of his playing is off the mark. I AM trying to capture his fire, excellence and exuberance in my own way. Any questions? - Just email me.

  • dont worry man, its the playing that matters, and ur playing is awesome!

  • Fantastic mate!

  • nice taylor, and an exceptional cover of this very challenging piece....some serious skillage there i think

  • Completely awesome! It takes serious skill, not to mention serious balls, to cover one of his tunes. You pulled off flawlessly!

  • Great stuff. This is my favorite TE track and you've done a great job with it.:)

  • great job here! 5 star!

  • Tommy Emmanuel is my favorite guitar player. I didn't think I would ever hear anyone that could compare, when playing his own song. I was wrong. Buddy, You Rock!

    Nice finger action and timing.

  • whoever is being hunted, after hearing this i think you got him... lol awesomeness once again.. you're a pro!

  • Relax it's just a song... ;) Great playing!!!

  • Theres an indescribable bliss obtained when immersing yourself in the music of an artist you deeply respect.

  • WELL SAID! My goal is never to copy for it's own sake, but to learn from the best and see where that takes me...so when we learn other peoples music we actually are in the process of becoming ourselves even more!! Enjoy and thank you!!! Rock on!

  • VERY good! Speechless!

    Hilde

  • Amazing. You have axtraordinary finger muscle speed. You must have forgotten your hat. You look more professional with your hat on. With no hat, you look like a professor. Sorry.

  • Yeah, after a few bald gleams in the camera - I decided the hat is the way to go :-)

  • I think you look fine without the hat. Bald is cool! It's been cool ever since I lost my hair!

  • Hat or no hat, your music is beautiful

  • WOW !

The best interpretation of Tommys song !!!!

I like your playing very much !

    cheers,

    wolfgang

  • couldn't agree more!!!

  • You blow my mind to pieces!

You're a guitar ninja for real.

  • S--W--E--E--T Another 5 from Me my Brother

  • amazing i am in awe that has to be some of the best playing i have ever heard

  • good job man! I sooo wanna learn that song! bit too fast for me still...I'll get to it soon! hehe

  • ok man ,you got it

  • Absolutely amazing. Love that guitar.

  • Holy **it, Adam! When you decide to tackle Tommy, I didn't know you were gonna pick the hardest damned flatpicked song... LOL!!! One of the best TE covers on YouTube... and I can tell that you enjoy playing it just as much as he does... :-) I am proud to see you branching out into TE's music as it has brought a whole new dimension to your own "acoustic virtuosity". :-) Saved on the Acoustic Virtuosity Archives (click bigdood - Playlists - FIVE STAR YouTube Artists!).

  • I shared this video with my buddies in japan who were great fans of Tommy last night, and all of them was knocked down to listen to you,Adam.

I was so pride of you!:x

  • O M G !!!!!

    Adam You are the best!

  • Does the name Gerry Chille ring any bells?

He's my dad, I hear you two were in a band together at college. After watching this, I can't help but think that must have been one hell of a band

  • Yes I was in a band with Gerry!! Send me a message.

  • Best cover ive seen on Youtube!!! Bravo!!!

  • Thank you!!!

  • You have the gift that Tommy has. Great job.

  • Thank you, what an honor that you think that!

  • I always thought that nobody could cover it better than fingers14 but you did it great just as good as fingers14

    awsome!

    Walter

  • Superb!!!!!!!

  • That's so great!!

  • Now that's rockin' out! Awesome job, probably the best cover of the song on here :D

  • Well done !!! :)

And with lot of emotions, great!

  • As i said before, great sound and superb as per usual.

  • Fantastic!!! Wow, what a great touch!
