  • Congrats, Ken!

  • Thanks!

  • Dropping outta film school: Jim Morrison. Unless he got kicked out

  • So I could be a drunken rock star still? Cool!

  • If only 30 years ago you had filmed a documentary about dropping out of film school. I can just see it now: your dropout documentary wins an Oscar, the school hires as a professor.

  • Now where were you with these brilliant ideas when I needed them? LOL!

  • Congratulations, Big K! You are one of the earliest of the developers of the art of vlogging - your part in YouTube history is cemented, you ol' fossil. But seriously, your vlogs have been great & consistent - which is one reason I've continued to watch (you're funny, too) - & you aren't trying to be Television - you are fully part of the unique 'matter' of this new media. Your humble sincerity has always made your serious vlogs worthy of attention and your funny vlogs more human! 5 3 year Stars

  • Thank you very much - Your check is in the mail.

  • Probably you don t know me anymore but maybe you remember me from reinviting me to your Site. I was following with big interest quite a time already. I am the INDI Moviemaker from Finland.

    Congrats For the Indi Festival!

PS: It was a strange mess with Paul and his MASTRUBATION VS INTERCOURSE. I came too late with my Video Response but i liked yours.

    Greetings from Finland

  • Well, Hello back to Finland - and thanks!

  • It's a common reaction. And there's no antidote ;^)

  • Sounds like a great film festival! And congrats on the vlogaversary!!!

  • It was a great time - Almost sorry to be back home now!

  • one way or another it's my pleasure to have been part of your YT experience and hey, that video about graveyards - is that related to the graveyard video you posted on this channel quite some time ago?

and like you YT totally reinvigorated my creative zest... it was certainly there before YT but had been dormant for quite some time!

  • Yes, the graveyard video posted a couple of years ago was some raw footage from what became the 24 minute film that played last night. YT has been very good for a lot of us frustrated wanna-be filmmakers who ended up getting "real jobs." I think we can each drink to that!

  • I always had a feeling, that you would make a breakthrough, into the world of art film. Your talent for script & presentation through many of your shorts, is impressive. keep up the good work & best of luck to you at the festival.

  • Thanks! We're about five hours from show-time right now... starting to get nervous...

  • :D happy you're here Ken.

  • Thanks - Good to be here!

  • Happy 3rd Vlogaversary Ken! And may your film be received well!!

  • Thanks - Tonight's the big night.... it's going to be a long day of waiting now...

  • Well we will stop encouraging you when you stop making good videos. LOl.

  • Oh, that's okay then - I stopped making *good* videos about 2-1/2 years ago!

  • LOL, what happened.

  • Some of my favorite people are film school dropouts.

    Here's to many more vlogyears.

  • I never met a film school that wasn't worth dropping out of. Or something like that ;^)

  • And it's your fault that you now have me--a lifelong camera phobe--making videos. If you hadn't set up that YouTube account at GFS, I might not have spent most of yesterday making a 90 second video for my family. Have a great week! Wish I could be at the Wednesday showing.

  • Excellent! I'm so glad you're getting into the whole YT scene! It's a wonderful medium and you can do so much (or so little) with it. Thanks!

  • Congrtats, Ken!! Your presence on YouTube has inspired many, including me. Many thanks for your thoughfulness and generosity of spirit!! Love the Htchcock polo shirt! Keep steaming--we need you!!

  • Thanks - Great to hear from you!

  • I took my wife to Disney Land for her 21st birthday in 1964.

  • It's changed ever-so-slightly since then...

  • Congrats Ken on all those things! All Access! wooo, it will be cool to get the update on the reviews and to SEE IT! :D

  • Thanks - I love having a pass to walk in and out of a movie theater at will. I wonder if it will work at the AMC back home?

  • Love your shirt! Congrats on your anniversary, what a cool way to celebrate :-)

  • Thanks - Wasn't it nice of them to schedule the film festival around my vlogaversary?

  • Good luck and have fun :o)

  • Thanks!

  • Congratulations. That's excellent news Ken! Have fun now.

  • Thanks - A great time is being had.

  • Congratulations - and I love the shirt! Wow, that Pass is a treasure. You'll be keeping it big time, right? Wait just a dang minute - you can't blame me, I've only been here 2 years! I'm waving from about 20 miles north of you and wishing I could be there to celebrate. Have a blast!

  • Is that you waving? I think I can see it from the window... oh, no, wait, that's just somebody trying to catch a cab in front of the hotel. Oh, yeah, I'll be keeping this pass and annoying people with it for a good long time ;^)

  • Congratulations.... I hope i can end up like you did :)....

  • End up like I did? Oh, no - You want something much better than this! LMAO, but thanks!

  • hehehe, maybe but i dont know if i can handle all that fame :)) heheheh...

  • End up?!?! How is this "ending up"?

Is this the end or just the beginning?

  • Yay, 3 stars from me!! Great vid!!

  • Thanks!

  • Congrats on 3 great years!!!

  • Thank you!

  • Happy Vloguversary!

  • Hey! Thanks - Haven't seen you around for a while... but then, I haven't been around too much the last couple of months either. Good to hear from you!

  • I've blinked in and out, but not much talking :P

You were one of the first people for me to find on YouTube and I've enjoyed you for quite a while now :) Three years.... amazing!

  • Happy 3RD!!! to you Ken...

  • Thank you!

  • what hotel are you at?

  • Sorry, but I've seen some freaky, scary movies today, so I ain't telling anybody where I'm at ;^)

  • You still rock. Watch out Disney, here comes KEN! I've enjoyed taking this long strange trip with you. Will it ever end?

  • It better not end. What a long strange trip it has been... hey, that would be a great lyric for song - you should use it!

  • I'd get sued!

  • thirty years ago you were 52. you were a middle ages dropout? no wonder you drink.

  • Oh, come on, I was only 45 back then. And they won't let me drink here at the "Happiest Place on Earth" - Damn mouse is a tea totaler.

  • happy vloggerverssary

  • Thanks, sir!

  • Thanks for taking the time at this event to hollar out to your friends...

    break a leg???

  • Thanks - The connection is a bit slow, but you know I had to at least try to vlog ;^)

  • Congratulations on 3 years HERE! Here of all places! Good luck!

  • Can you imagine? It happened HERE? I hardly believed it myself. Thanks!

  • Ya see now, WE already knew you were a filmmaker. It's about time Mickey Mouse finally take notice!

Here's to discarded dreams being pulled out of retirement thanks to all these wacky and wonderful online video community shenanigans.

    :-)

Btw, I was hoping to make it to that festival but it turns out I won't be able to make it.

    :-(

  • Sorry to miss you, but I was thinking of you earlier tonight: Jim J Bullock was in one of the short films this evening, and he was sitting a few seats down from me. Didn't he show up in one of your Hollywood Autograph videos? Seems like a nice guy.

  • Ah how cool. Yeah, he does seem like a cool guy, but alas he wasn't at the Hollywood thingamashow. His name came up tho when my buddy Chris talked to the two actresses from Too Close For Comfort.

  • OMG was Monroe there ?!?!

  • Oops, sorry, I did not realize that Monroe

and Jim J Bullock were one and the same.

    Nevermind.

  • Have a great time there. Good luck on your next year here!

  • Thank you!

  • I'm very happy for you, Ken! Dude, you're only 45 minutes from my stomping ground! My brother works at Disneyland! Too bad I'm up to my ears in work. I could get you and a guest into the Magic Kingdom. I would like it very much just to shake your hand and ride a coaster or two, maybe even throw back a brew...but alas I am currently a slave to my creditors! Have fun! How long are you in town?

  • I'm here till Friday morning - I didn't realize how close you are! It's kind of odd to keep walking by the entrance to Disneyland and CA Adventure, but not be going in - but that'll have to be another trip. I'm spending the whole week in the AMC theater.

  • It's almost biblical. Can youtube be the promised messiah -- making old men dream dreams?

  • Well, it ain't quite turned water to wine yet, but it has brought a bit of happiness to many. And that ain't bad at all.

  • I always thought two girls and one cup came pretty close to accomplishing that. Hope people like your film at the Disneyland thingy.

  • Film school dropout has made good, hasn't he? Movie at a festival. That's pretty darn good.

It has been three years for me too, so yeah, thanks for the versary.

  • The festival has been a loooong time a-comin', but it's going great so far. And another three-year YT veteran - Congratulations!

  • Well done Ken. Both on your film & on the anniversary.

I'm pleased to have been along for most of your time here.

Watching all of these 3 year vids, has made me realise that so many of my fave YTers have been here around 3 years too. The class of 2006 was a good one, imho.

Good point about this crazy site encouraging us to branch out. it's done that for me too.

Here's to many more years :)

  • It is interesting how we early settlers, that Class of '06 as you put it, have hung together. A few dropouts here and there, but still going strong. Yes, here's to many, many more!

  • Maybe we've stuck together because we came here without any real prior knowledge of the site. Unlike people now, who've heard all about it.

Just a thought. Maybe we're like minded people?

it sure seems that way sometimes :)

  • Congrats and Happy 3rd Anniversary!

  • Thanks!

  • I didn't know you went to film school. You have that Spielbergian kind of history. He dropped out, too--but made it big. As soon as you get an office at Universal Studios, I have a musty box load of scripts I'm ready to turn into movies! Uh...let's set up a time for me to come and pitch. lol.. kidding. You deserve the best, my friend. I drink 30ccs of Mogen David each night as a health tactic. I'm taking my drink now as a toast to your success!

  • I came all the way from the youtube homepage and there's no booze? Not even some cake?

    Anyways happy vlogaversary Ken.

  • I'm staying at Downtown Disney - There ain't no booze when you're in Disney's domain. How will I ever survive till Friday?

  • From one film school dropout to another, love the Hitchcock Profile logo shirt. Where can I get one of those? Happy 3rd anniversary and I will see you this week at the Fest!

  • The shirt is a limited edition and the only one I've ever seen. See you Wednesday!

  • Happy Vlogaversary!!!

Have a great time at the festival 8‹D

  • Thanks - Day one was great; now I'm going to pass out for a few hours and head back for more...

  • LOL

    You're a trooper.

Watch out for the mind fields ;‹ ) Those Indy producers can play rough.

  • What a great antidote to the old "I'm 4X or 5X years old and I didn't get to finish/do XYZ because this ABC thing happened that wasn't my fault and now I'm a failure" whine!

I've been thinking a lot lately, how much YT has done for me and how well worth the year it's taken me to learn editing (I know, simple to you!) and how it has given new life to my former creative dreams unfinished.

Not so long ago you wouldn't have believed my first BA (over 30+ yrs ago!) was in Writing.

  • Isn't it great? For all the whining we often do (I know I'm guilty of it) about YT's technical glitches and stupid editorial decisions, it's given us a free platform to create, experiment, and grow - no matter how long in the tooth we may be.

  • congratulations ken and it's been a great journey! why are you wearing hitchcock? are they selling different director shirts there?

  • The shirt is actually from a winery, but I figured it was appropriate for today. And why Hitch? Why anybody else? Hitch Rules! Thanks!

  • I'm honored to have been here witnessing the past 3 years of your hijinks, Ken.

    Love the Hitchcock shirt!

  • Glad you have you along, sir. It is a favorite shirt of mine ;^)

  • what ? no clip show?

Glad to have you here Kenrrrg ^_^

  • No clips? Yeah, well, it's just a quick vlog... But I'm shooting plenty of material to put together into a film fest wrap-up once I get home. Thanks!
