and surf along the east shore up and down, the gym must be in sight at all times, you will run into a smear of the all the pokemons images, i dont have enough space to finish this......

No, he hacked it. Glitches occur when there was a mistake in making the game, or when you use a cheat code like from gameshark or the like. Hacking is kinda hard to explain, but it's like altering how the ROM is supposed to work using programs and stuff.
