I'd be looking around for a big mother bear, if I were Dave. While they might not necessarily attack outright, they'll certain give warning if they find you standing within earshot of their cubs.
It,s only a cub maybe a year old. It doesn,t know that it should be very afraid of humans. I live right in town and frequently have bears on my deck.They leave when they don,t find anything to eat....

Cute when they are little, but can cause a lot of damage and mayhem, heheh. We keep an airhorn handy. Very loud and scares them off.
