After Michael died, I watched all 12 episodes, repeatedly, to the degree I began to fear I'd get tired. Lately, I've been watching "This is It," repeatedly - reminded me of these. I want Marlon's cape! And I understand Michael not happy with the show because you can tell they didn't have time to perfect everything. Also it's reminiscent of all the tv show appearances that Motown made them do, which by this point they were trying to get move away from; but for younger fans like me it's nice to see these old clips because it is done by real entertainers, the likes of which we don't see much these days.

@napoholic At this point, they had made their move from Motown. That is why Jermaine isn't on here, and why it's "the Jacksons" instead of the Jackson5. Michael should've been happy with this show. Most of the dance routines were perfected, as a whole, especially Michael's part; Jackie and Reebie were always spot on, as well. In fact, Jackie dances his ass off in EACH dance routine in all 12 episodes.

I don't think Joseph really wanted to compete with the Osmonds. I believe he wanted to show the world, the Jacksons were just as beautiful and talented if not more talented than the Osmonds. Although Michael didn't have anything against the Osmonds, the competition was in the way the public, the media and the entertainment world compared the Jacksons with the Osmonds. Once their variety show premiered, there was no doubt as to what his children were capable of as entertainers.

Yeah i read mikes autobiography too and i was shocked when i read that he hadn't liked doing it. He said he couldn't perfect his routines, their album sells dropped, and the lighting was poor but like you said these are treasures and i can't stop watching them.
