lighter shade wrapper usually is a connecticut, darker usually a maduro/oscuro. mild is just that, smooth and mellow. full bodied will grow chest hairs.
personal opinion- i would recommend only squeezing the end that you light because you don't want to crack the outer layer, especially if you are testing the cigar for freshness in a store where you havn't bought it yet
you seem to know a fair amount so i have a question. I live in a barracks room on a military post, i have no humidor and not quite the fianance for one right now. would placing them in the fridge possibly do any good? or would that harm them even more
I'm not the one, you're asking but, my suggestion would be not to refridgerate a cigar. Reason being, a refridgerator isn't a good place to store humidity, or the moisture in the air. Think of when you pour a beverage in a glass on a hot summer day, the condensation would stick to the glass. If you put that glass in the fridge, chances are it won't hold the moisture on the glass, assuming your fridge doesn't let in a lot of outside air. Hope that helps!
I went to my local smoke shop one day and told him that I bought a Cigar from another shop and was very dry, I didnt enjoy it at all. So he told me that if I dont have a Humidor I should put the cigar in the Fridge 2 hours before I am ready to enjoy it. he also told me not to leave it in there for too long because of the condensation. im just a newbie but he was a veteran smoker.
@SgtGShepherd Tupperware will work okay for someone on a budget. BUT, make sure to vent it once in awhile. For humidification, I use a small slice of apple. Place the skin side down and don't let it touch the cigar. If the cigar is very dry, the apple will dry up. If it is not dry...watch out! Replace the apple slice before it rots.
What is the point of smoking a cigar?

Get this, a couple of days ago, the price for all tobacco in Australia went up 25%! Overnight! With no warning! And in July it will be another 25%!!!
God how I hate being generalized with cigarette smokers!

@lobzdik That makes two of us. Cigarette smoke sucks. Cigar smell is divine.

The apple even imparts a nice mild flavor.
