  • True quality music that is as awesome today as it was when it was recorded and it never seems to fail to lift my spirits when i hear this or any of their songs

  • Awesome!!!

    Grandma Mary

  • same here mies! since the seventies!

  • Still love the Status Quo!!!!!! When I'm down I listen to them and starting to be happy!!!

  • Me too mies!

  • epic

  • Quo do the Eagles...nice tune though. They should've done more stuff in this vein, and more stuff with Parfitt on vocals - he's a surprisingly good singer.

  • In my opinion, Quo cannot be described in one word because they

include all the factors off Quality, Happiness, Magic, Power, Excellence and Ability. Maybe two words, THE BEST, will do... :D

  • tidy. seen these at merthyr last year

  • i can almost hear lanc's thoughts; "what the f***'s this goddam shit".

  • yees lovely song theres not just 3 chords they squeeze the fourth in there as they joke:) best band ever!

  • Love this song excellent(:

  • Forgive the sacrelege guys but I actually think this is one of the few decent songs Quo made. I never got into their cheesy guitar bashing stuff, maybe the accoustic sound is what I like. Besides this song is vastly more clever and complex than 95% of their stuff. But hey, that's just one guys opinion!

  • me encanta,me encanta,me encanta...

  • This is Quo at their Absolute Best - SuperGroup Status - This song is the Quos 'Freebird' - Living on an Island is an Absolutely Brilliant Song - The Best!

  • there is no better band they are the best

  • Parfitt legend!

  • I always thought this song was about the pressure of being in the public eye all the time. I get that - but who were 'Hugh' and "Cruxie'? I know who 'my friend' was.....

  • Cruxie was Alan Crux one of Quos Managers at the time. I think there must have been a falling out over the years as Rick now sings Someone gonna be there soon.

  • so?

    There Still Amazing!

  • Proof that Status Quo weren't just a three-chord band and that they were very adept at creating catchy pop/rock songs.

  • yep some say simple music. thats why maybe not even one band even tried it. Quo sound is unique and very very difficult to copy. Listen to any cover band that tries. After 10 seconds of playing its obvious.

Alan, Francis, Rick and John. the ultimate Quo line up. Brilliant.

  • Saw the mighty Quo 3/4 times in the 80's. Each time they played for hours and hours and it was just one BIG PARTY! :-)

  • ok so in the second verse " crooksie gonna be there soon",.. who he?

  • Love this song!

  • seen these guys back in dublin in october 2006 i can honestly say they rocked the point depot to the ground cant wait 2 c them again

  • that is so funny

  • it is so good

  • Love this song; it means quite a lot to me too at this moment in time.

    Great vid too.

For my friend 'H' too; hope you like it!

    G C.

  • Quo were 'my' band when I was a lad through the late seventies and early eighties, this was always the song that stood out for me, not the best known even now but for those who know the Quo it's like an old friend.

  • got laid first time to this

  • I love Alan Lancasters porno mo lol

  • One of Quo's best songs! Don't fuck with this one.

  • I totally agree.

  • Probably Quo's best piece of songwriting work. Starts as a ballad and slowly builds into yet another great endless Quo riff.

    love it

  • I listened this song one hour ago,Live in Ljubljana,i didnt know this song, until I have heard it live, they are AWESOME

  • TOPNOTCH Richard !!

  • A superb song. IMO the best theyve ever done. This song wouldnt look out of place if it was released today.

Im a 25 year old lad, who really appreciates music, and love the Quo, saw them live 4 years ago with my dad, and plan to see them again later on this year.

    Keep on rockin' lads :)

  • I'm 24, I saw Quo play in Sydney in 1998 Rockin' All Over Australia tour. Great concert.

  • best ballad ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! status quo keeps rocking all over the years

  • DAS ist unser Kennen-lern-lied

  • Rossi used to be so hot with his long brown hair... as did Ozzy Osbourne :D

  • Quelle belle balade que de souvenir, STATUS QUO se ne sont vraiment pas des pingouins

  • awesomeeex10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

  • Things I love about this:

    1. Alan Lancaster's chest wig/medallion combo

    2. The fact that this clip's from the legendary 'Rockin Through The Years' video

    3. The strategic juxtaposition of the penguin, nature's most hard-rocking aquatic bird, to enhance the viewing experience.

What a great tune. Long live The Quo!

  • pmsl @ No3

  • used to listen to this in my bedsit days - good and bad memories. Great tune.

  • this is a great song,beautiful words

  • Status Quo Rocks! I listen to my mum's record haha!

  • Ich bin jetzt knapp 12Jahre alt und bin schon seit ich 2 bin ein riesiger Fan von Status Quo, ich war bei mehreren Konzerten von ihnen. Das Lied ist eines meiner Lieblingslieder.

  • Cool, German dude.

  • I love this song so much i got the music and learnt how to play it on my guitar...its a great song....I love Status Quo....theyre the best along with afe other bands i love

  • Dayamit, cariño, a veces desearia estar solo contigo en una isla, sin mas compañia que nuestro gran amor.

  • this is a great song i think cool

  • Great song in my teenager time.

    I remember me : )

    Thanx for posting

  • La plus belle balade du monde !!!!!

  • this song nice as it is with all the penguins sea and so on is all about drugs,on an island, waiting for mate with drugs, another line, getting high, mmmm.

  • but come on mate what else have they got to do.

plus it may only be a fag afterwards.

  • so?

  • ja du wixxer!

  • just to clarify, that was for ds001c7007 and not 1961spurs.

  • bad as

  • Love the sound you guys got it.

    Allen

  • This is a great Quo single. There's an awful Oasis track that rips this off, can't remember what it's called.

  • This song still worx 4 me: Glad yet sad

  • If this ain't a summer song, none is

  • Is this where the Quo fans 'The Penguin Crew' get their name from?

  • Still a good song

  • anyone got them singing "Honky tonk angel"?

  • Beautiful .. goose bumps, reminds me of a girl I knew back then

  • don't we all matoko...

    don't we all...

  • Funny enough me too. Best Christmas of my life

  • real quality!! rossi has done a few lines me thinks? i love this track!!

  • What has Rossi got 2 do with it? It's a Parfitt/Young track

  • The lines he is referring to are not lyrics. He is also a fairly influential member of the band. But, wow, you proved you know who wrote the song.

  • Put ur head back up ur s: Looks better & ur less anoyin that way

  • Annoyin, indeed: No need 2 explain what's so f@ckin obvious, Tweety! Just pointin out that Rossi's responsible 4 Quo's artistic downfall & 'shudn't get credit 4 a track like 'Livin' on an Island'..

  • great, thanks

  • More of this please, Rick..

  • one of my favourites, wheres old rag blues and tommys in love?

  • superb

  • Wow! This is Quoheaven!!!! very good. thnx man!

  • great song!
