They got these through chats and fanmeeting as well as through their profile so there's no actual vid to stand as evidence for these religion-related fact. The real term would be sunbae, the "nim" part is added as a honorific (-nim being a very respectful one). The opposite of sunbae is hoobae, someone who started after you (in any work field).

Dongsaeng is like calling someone a younger brother/sister (girls call older guys "oppa" and older girls "unnie", guys use "hyung" and noona" but only if u're close to that person first). Someone can be your sunbae but also be your dongsaeng.
