@TaurusMoonlight I thought that back in the old days, ladies are not allowed to serve in the army and if anyone found guilty of this crime, the individual will be prosecuted. This is why I wanted to know if the general killed Mulan or they did reward her. It's hard to believe that no one knew or find out she is a lady while in the war for more than 10 years. Is she this good that she has never been wounded thru the whole 10 yrs. of war? Very interesting.
@microbiologiest I read some place that of course the court new she was a she but as the emperor said she was male then she could walk naked through the city and they still call her a man,because the emperor is never wrong.

The background of Hua Mu Lan is the North-South Court (Nan Bei Chao) period of China. In the North Court side.
The Northern Nomads were gaining ground and extending South, the Han people were in retreat.
