I've known this song since the summer of 1971, Cathy Blom sang it to me, and I've loved it since. Usually listened to the Vogues recording of this 1957 love song.

Great version. I´ve been looking for a particular one which was featured in a documentary about Jayne Mansfield, made maybe 10-15 years ago. It was not mentioned in the credits, does anyone know who sang that one? That was the absolutley best version of this song I ever heard.

It may well have been Bobby Vinton who sang that version. His version is wonderful. There have been quite a few versions recorded over the years but the Vinton version is by far the best.

"My Special Angel" was a #1 country hit and #7 pop hit in 1957 for Bobby Helms (1933-1997). The Crests recorded it in 1960 for their first LP album THE CRESTS SING ALL BIGGIES. Their version is a dreamy ballad. Johnny's voice is so smooth and romantic. Johnny Maestro is my special angel, now in Heaven.
