Land cruiser=build as an off-road car for the roughest terrains in the world. The touareg on the otherhand, is a car with off-road capabilities. So comparing doesn't make much sense. I think it would have made more sense to compare a Land Rover with a Land Cruiser. Also iI think it was wise of the driver of the touareg to discontinue, judging by the ground clearance the touareg had.

Bhè dai... Per quanto anche al nuovo touareg gli hanno messo il terrain tech il riduttore e l'area view resta sempre un veicolo SUV... Massimo massimo crossover ma certamente non fuoristrada. Quel fosso è solo per i fuoristrada :-) Le gomme contano fin li. Ma soprattutto: Il touareg pesa sui 2800kg... il Toyota pesa sui 2600. 200kg in più si sentono eccome quando l'assetto è ottimizzato per la strada e non per i campi ;-)

(at least it had Landcruiser badging on it), Did that make it capable? Land Cruiser SUVs come standard with open diffs. Even on a Chevy and Ford, you can order factory E-locking diffs. Toyotas, you have to take to ARB (because that's the only place Toyota fans know of). The most simple, and best off-roader at a cheap price is the Wrangler.
