  • Took alot of balls to play that in North Korea, great version.

  • NY Philharmonic is so lucky the north koreans didn't even kill them while playin the Star Spangled Banner DPRK hates USA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wheres the end..u can't just cut it off..that's un American

  • Fucking represent! Take that Kim!

  • This is amazing, not very often Americans are allowed in to North Korea

  • @afurneaux1 Every year during august for the Mass Games.

  • And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air,

Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there:

Oh, say! does that star-spangled banner yet wave

O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave? ???????? mmm hmmm?

  • Whe did they play only a minute of it?

  • They didn't. Whoever made this video cut it off.

  • Only the loudest part of the national anthem was aired, not the sweet flute and oboe melody in between, this is because I guess he wanted the american anthem to seem obnoxious to the north korean public.

I knows this sounds like a weird explanation, but what isn't awkward about the entire anthem not being played.

But the NYPHil played the anthem marvelously :D

  • wow thats extremely idiotic

  • 성조기여 영원하라는 다른 곡입니다. 미국 국가의 제목은 '성조기'입니다.

  • OMG it was censored!??!?!?!1

    pffff hahahahahaa

  • I would be shitting my pants if I was the conductor.

  • i'd be shitting in my pants if i was watching it live.

  • Mr.Kim , this is not right..

let us finish this song then you have fun

  • Did this Korean TV station actually cut off half of the US anthem?

    WTF?

  • Everything in North Korea is controlled by Kim. He probably made that decision himself.

  • The american and the dprk national anthems were performed in its entirety.

  • Yes they were. Unfortunetly Only part of the American anthem was released. Kim controls ev erything. It's pathetic.

  • Why did you post only a portion of the American National Anthem?

  • Whatever fucknuts posted this didn't post the whole version of our anthem being performed.

  • I can't believe they were allowed to play this, the "Great benevolent leader" must have told them all that it was just written for himself-written by himself at that.

  • are you fucking serious amurphy245!!!??? you are the dumbest piece of shit i have ever seen.

THINK OF ALL OF THE STUFF THAT NORTH KOREA DID TO US!!! (plus ros585 there in north korea)

anybody that thinks playing their cultures anthem... in another country is wrong... your fucked up.

  • educate me on what north korea has done to us.

  • That was a ridiculous remark. Period...I am not wasting more time commenting.

  • how dare u talk about america

    the worlds greatest economy,military,music,jokes

and most important will to spread peace

  • amen, gosh i love america

  • amen, gosh i love america

  • Yes thats a joke very funny you're remark.

  • that is such a rude remark, america is just trying to bring peace there and i bet your a taliban right?? dam stop hating on america lol

  • Do you seriously believe that? This is the internet, yes, where anyone can say anything and pretty much get away with it~ but wow. that IS a pretty ridiculous remark.

  • Hey stfu, ur just a stupid Kraut whos mad cause the US kicked ur ass in WW1+2. so stop hating.

  • My comment is to

    amurphy245

  • what makes you think i am german ? o_O the american aggressors have forever tried to suppress and stifle the dprk in a subtle attempt to make the nation crumble and its people suffer, but under the wise leadership of General kim jong il such an act is impossible for the dprk is invincible.

  • That's a little bit harsh, don't you think?

They played this along side the North Korean National Anthem as a symbolic gesture of peace. (Which you probably are well aware of)

I personally thought the Korean anthem was quite beautiful.

I hope you can learn to forgive America as we learn to better ourselves as a country. We have made mistakes(more than our fair share) but we are trying to improve ourselves. I promise that all of us aren't that bad. :)

  • amurphy245 go back to n korea

  • I hope and pray that this will somehow lead to a better life for the North Koreans.

Hopefully, there can be a breakthrough in communications between the two countries so that the living standards of the North Koreans can improve. It breaks my heart to see so many hungry children over there.

I love my children and grandchildren more than I can ever express. They love their children and grandchldren also! I just hope for a better future for them. May the Lord bless those people!

  • They also performed the North Korean national anthem, side by side with this.

  • they arn't going to madison square garden

they are going to the UK so it doesnt even matter

  • Yes
