Great review (as always). I agree this flute sound awesome. I look forward to seeing you review some of the other OTS libraries (mesawinds, acoustic guitar).
Good stuff as always. I also take back my previous criticism of the scarbee funk guitar...tried it at a friends studio and it was incredible...I admit when I'm wrong lol in this case you were def right
Everything Orange tree makes is unreal they are incredible and the price is better than any competitor. From what I understand its like one guy programming most of it to. I'm moving more and more towards the independant software, using reaper now instead of protools for the first time in 15 years. Anyhow great stuff here. You should review strawberry guitar also
@JonMuro1 yeah man, Greg is the guy over there and he's pretty awesome. He gets great players and makes great interfaces, I definitely plan to review more of their stuff.
@dmoates420 I actually do more instruments than sample libraries, though I try to keep it balanced a bit but I feel ya, this is the stuff I really dig as well.
Great review..... the flute at 8:35 kindaa sounds like the flute on the ending theme of the boondocks but yea great review... still waiting on that session strings pro review tho...
Sounds pretty cool. The only thing is, Im not sure how you were playing it but it sounds like there is some articulation going on. That is the thing I find with instruments like this, is that the articulation is so advanced that it is very hard and complicated to control and manipulate. Do you understand what I mean St. Joe?
@pppeeeppee it's not hard at all, it's all based on how you play, it automatically does it based on legato (moving from one note to the next) and dynamics. Very simple.
@SoundsAndGear "it automatically does it based on legato" Exactly my point. What if you want to change the articulation of the legato, its one big headache. Well I suppose I have to get use to using stuff like this, like I said sounds very very good but too scared of articulation. I like to use stuff easy and simple
@pppeeeppee uhhh, there is no "articulation of the legato" legato is a playing style. Not sure what you're looking for but wanting to be able to program all the articulations manually yourself, this doesn't not make something easier at all. If you just want the short notes you can play those, just want vibrato, you can play that too, everything can be done manually...it sounds more natural when it's automatic, and it's "easier" in my opinion, nothing to be scared about. Just play it :)
@SoundsAndGear My fault I was rushing when I was typing so yeah it sounds like I don't know what Im talking about "this doesn't not make something easier at all." No no Im not talking about that, Im specifically talking about the articulation withing the instrument. Lets say when there is a particular note slide I only want to happen on one note, I would literally have to play with every button in kontakt just to find out which sample is articulating and apply only to that note. ITS COMPLICATED!
@pppeeeppee I think you're referring to the difference between single samples and a multi sampled instrument. It sounds like you prefer actual samples and licks as opposed to a multi sample instrument, which is cool, this wouldn't be for you in that situation.
How did miss this one....very nice

@SoundsAndGear (cont) basically what Im trying to say is that I have a hard time articulating the notes and samples the way I want them
