And I've read a pdf from Bilâl Phillips, he said the sufis mixed islâm with their cultures when they became Muslims i,e Iranians mixed islam with fireworshipping, indians with hinduism, africans with african dancing etc.... May Allâh reward you akhî.

What is it with these "Sufi Masters" knowing things that they should not know? Where I come from many people who have had sihr done on them have gone to "sheikhs" and before they could even talk, this "sheikh" just suddenly knew everything about the person and their family's history...and that is one of many things...which include very disturbing stuff..I think the answer lies only in one category...you call this Islam? Audhubillah!

?? I hope no one understood from my speech that I said Thikr is Haraam! How can that be? It is a sunnah to say these 33 times Tasbeehaat.... I was referring to the Sufi invented Thikr and not the one taught by the Prophet.

I knew were divided into sects but I had no idea it was this serious.

The explaination you gave about dhikr of "Allahu" is so true.. I've read it once from a magazine published by Jama't-ad-Da'wa (I hope you might have heard about it).

You are so right.. According to people, if one is not practicing sufism, he is wahabi (like its a bad word).. My family wasn't completly sufi.. But as soon as we changed our ways, people of our area have started calling us wahabi..

If you read the seerah and life of the sahabas, you will see that they showed love in a way that he (SAW) didn't directly teached them. There is also extremism in fighting bidah, the middle way is the best way, Allah knows best...

@OneWayToParadise Constructive discussion: the first verse of surah 55 is Ar-Rahmaan and it is a complete verse. Is it wrong to repeat one ayat? Is it wrong for an 'Abd to say the name of his Rabb 'Allah' over and over again? it is a dhikr - remembrance. Can we write a different salaam? Is it bid'ah to do this? Owais Qarni (RA) wrote dua's related by Ali (RA) which our Prophet (SAW) did not teach. Is it bid'ah? wats ur view?

@AAAjMMMiRRR Yes it is wrong to repeat the Ayah as a Thikr. Can you get an Ayah from the book of Allaah and turn it to a Thikr? Again, did the messenger of Allaah do that? It's so simple so don't complicate it. Whatever the messenger did not do, tell us to do, or approve during his time, is an innovation.

Great lecture, my whole family is sufi and I tell them almost everyday that some of the things they do are not from the sunnah, but they shrug it off.

@dreamlx33 Akhi. Please read the book of Imaam AnNawawee RyiaduSsaaliheen, go to the chapter on backbiting, then read the 6 excpetions mentioned there. Hamza Yusuf has been advised by many brothers and he made not changes nor did he take heed, It is an obligation to warn against him. We need to be united upon the truth and not simply united.

You should have more athab than this brother, if you want to talk about Imam Hamza, then why do you not speak to him directly instead of talking about him based on hearsay. Surely you know better. @dreamlx33 Wa Alaykum Assalaam. As I clearly mentioned in the lecture(maybe you haven't watched that part yet), it is necessary to warn the Muslims from individuals who are off track. Speaking to him has nothing to do with warning the Muslims against him. Please refer to the works of our scholars in order to learn more about this brother. Also, many others have warned against him as well. Did you ever wonder why? Oh, by the way, he is not "Imam" Hamza... That's a heavy title there Akhi.

Don't assume that what is true about someone is true for somebody else based on generalizations. Not all sufis are alike just like not all shia, sunni, salafi etc are alike. Hamza Yusuf is an incredible man of immense knowledge and I would make 70 excuses for him before even thinking about going after his aqeedah. And I also disagree that simply saying the word "Allah" is sacrilegious, the speaker is a young man and he needs to watch what he says.

@OneWayToParadise Asalaamu Alaikum. My understanding of Shariah is that everything is permissible unless proven otherwise. Summoning the name of the Creator (any 100 of them) is an act of remembrance and worship by itself, it may be inferior to saying SubhanAllah or adding something meaningful, but it is still dhikr nonetheless. We were created to remember Allah, so give your brother the benefit of the doubt.

If that was not the case, then the people would come up with new acts of worship everyday... Answer the simple question, did the messenger of Allaah remember Allaah is this fashion? If not, can anyone worship Allaah better than him? Also, we were not created to remember Allaah. We created to be slaves and worship
