I just sat down with this song earlier and tried some fun extensions. For the chorus, I think my favorite variation was G6, Bb13, C7, F9-Bb13. I voice it in a way that pedalled the G in on top of chords. That's just one way I like to do it. It'll sound more exciting if you mix your voicings up here and there.

Btw, if you put the root of the Bb and the C on the 5th string, you only have to move your hand a few positions at a time. It'll make things a bit easier.

I just noticed that your pinkie is up. Are you putting a m7 on all those triads? You can play them pure, but I agree that those are more fun with dominant tonality. Well, pretty much anything is usually better than straight triads. Just stay away from maj7's here over any chord over maybe the bVII. The melody as far as I can remember has tons of b7 and #9/b3's.

Pretty good. The chords in the chorus sounded a bit funny.

The progression for the verses is one measure of I, bIII, IV each then 2 beats of bIII, bVII--repeated. In the original key, I think it's G, Bb, C, then Bb- F. It's basically just a I- IV progression with a play on the bluesy "backdoor ii V7" leading back to tonic. The chorus I'm not sure about. I think you can get away with alternating I and IV everyother measure. I'll check it again when I'm a bit more sober maybe. ^ ^
