  • In my opinion any tanto design autimaticaly falls into the defense / combat / tactical catagory due to the piercing ability of the tip of the tanto blades.

  • Your the only man tht can do a 24 min vid on a knife I LOVE YOU

  • pick 5 tools not 4 you need a knife too lol

  • Thanks! Great video!

  • Are all Emersons chisel ground? I'm looking to buy a Emerson Roadhouse.

  • thanks for a well done, informative review on this very interesting knife. i knew nothing about Emerson, so the brief history lesson was a plus too. keep up the good work!

  • fuck thats a low profile knife. nice

  • You open cans with your knives?

  • Viewing and commenting from my iPhone! Great vid

  • Damn that bali looks damn nice for being some ones first.

  • I LOVE your reviews. Request: a vid (or series of vids) on some excellent tactical/self-defense knives. Expensive, not so expensive--but quality and reliable blades. Thanks for you help and instruction to us novices.

  • Hey, I love knives as much as the next guy..I own quite a few...However, as long as I am going to conceal a weapon, it might as well be the little guns I have always had at my side for over 35 years. I like a small wheel gun, however, some of the new (and a few older) automatics make me feel swell, wherever I go. I'm not great with a knife, I admit it. But with a .25, .32., .38, auto...I am Lord. Later bros!

  • hay a got rust spots on sum of my knew blades how can i take them off the spots arent big or very noticable just anyoing to me any sugestions

  • @krispy022

Scrub it off with fine sandpaper, and put oil on the blades regularly to prevent rust.

  • @zanuha yep just got rem oil down in florida the humidty is year round bad

  • Nice Video!

  • i've found chisel ground blades a lot easier to sharpen! the trick is just knocking off the bur

  • huh? what'd you say?

    lol!

  • Here we go again with the guns kill people drama.

Do us all a favor and shut the hell up.

I'm sick (And so it everybody) of you pulling these psedu-statistics out of your ass.

I guess I can also make up fake statistics, here goes:

Did you know that listening to a random youtuber bitching about gun control can give you testicular cancer? Here that guns? You're killing people after all! And the best part is? I DON'T have to site my sources either!

    Ain't the world peachy?

  • *JesusFuckingChrist84* Your comment is junk. One the things you are saying are irrelevant to the video that you just watched. He didn't mention any statistics. Nor did he mention any guns kill people drama. Also, I'd like to point out with over 3000 views on a video that was posted 1 day ago. Means that people do want to hear what he has to say.

So, please as you stated "Do us all a favor and shut the hell up." And thank you for taking your own advice.

  • @revisualize

Sir, I was speaking not to Cutlery lover,

    but to TheGunsDoKillPeople.

What he said was indeed irrelevant to the

video, and as such sparked other such

    comments.

I hope this was all a big misunderstanding,

as I do not have a problem with cutlery lover,

just TheGuns who attempts getting notoriety through drama.

  • @JesusFuckingChrist84 My deepest appologize for my assumption.

  • @revisualize

No problems, mate. If you are this passionate about it,

I can safely assume you are a good person. ;-)

And as long as we're on the same side, no hard feelings.

  • @JesusFuckingChrist84 guns dont kill people people kill people

  • @airsoftSkyler

I hope this is not another misunderstanding! I know that, and I'm glad you are rational enough to understand. ;-)

Something we are lacking in these days.

  • @JesusFuckingChrist84 By the way, it is pseudo, not psedu.

  • @GaleanoOfElCano

Lol, thanks for pointing that out. I actually looked up the spelling right before I made the comment, you know, just to be sure. I was correct in the way I thought it was spelled but still made the typo, lol.

  • great review, i actually learned something

  • Cool vid man! I own a few knives with the wave style openers, (CRKT Desert special forces Cruiser, a couple Cold Steel ti-lites, and an AK-47), and I can attest to the fact that they are THE fastest deploying folders on the planet. I have always lusted after Ernies blades. On the wish list right now is the CQC-15 plain edge in black. Awesome. Btw, how was the beef stew MRE?

  • occasionally, us knife guys just like to stab stuff...

that made me laugh so hard, it sounds weird, but I totally know what you mean, but still, that's funny...

  • dont you use ur electric belt sander?

  • This is my everyday carry knife! Never remembered the model name and/or number, but knew it was a quality knife. Bought the thing in a small Boston knife store (Fanuel Hall?) sometime in the early to mid 1990's. Funny that I remembered I paid $135.00 for it, and that it was the most expensive knife I ever bought by far at that time. First time I ever heard the name Benchmade. Have the half serrated blade. Love the way it handles and feels, even today. Good review (my favorite!). 5 stars.

  • AND A ROLL OF DUCT TAPE!

  • That knife doesn't Apeal to me... Great video but idk I don't like it, that's my opinion

  • I am glad you're doing the wave vid. These knives will try to deploy EVERY time you pull them out of your pocket! I have one, and I almost got cut allot until I got used to it. BTW I notice you're getting troll comments more often than you used to. Ah, the cost of fame...Keep up the good work!

  • cool knive where do you bought it and ps will you make a vid with all good knive brands

  • @colector45 no one can really answer that, people have different opinions, some might like some while others wont even touch the products from a knife company, good knife companies in my opinion are like benchmade, cold steel, boker, crkt, ka-bar, etc

  • Great, comprehensive review, Man! Really enjoyed it!

The 7 is definitely a true classic. Well deserving of the reputation it's earned.

    Good stuff, Man!

  • TheGunsDoKillPeople:

You are HALF right. In certain situations (e.g. last ditch the crook is strangaling you) a knife would be useful for defensive uses. However, in other situations pulling out a knife is not a wise idea.

  • i don't like the circular thumb stud

  • Another great review Jeff!

  • so cutlerylover what is your favoret knife for about that 40 range

  • @Distance

    That's because it's as a strong as a fixed ;)

  • I have flipped so many knives, but my CQC7.... I dont know what is so good about this knife, I just cant let this knife go. It just feels like a knife that can do almost any knife- task.

  • Great vid Jeff!! Favorited!

Of all the knives I have ever owned the CQC-7 was my most carried knife, that is of course before I got my 6! ; )

  • great job jeff this knife reminds me of a kershaw skyline though and i have one so i wont be carrying it or buying it to soon

  • Man he should get back into making balisongs!

    That would be sweet!

  • I'd really love to get one of these knives, but it seems no one has any in stock. That makes me sad. Hopefully I'll be able to find one eventually.

  • grea video as always!! I really enjoyed the fist 6 minutes of the history. Thanks 5/5

  • Very nice detailed review. Sweet lookin blade, I have the HD - 7 and love the wave feature on the Emerson knives. Thanks for sharing.

  • I'v got to be honest to hold knife looks like a gun show special to be. The whole chisel ground and the simple look and then it expensive on top of that. I mean were is the 99 bucks going to?

  • "us knife people just like to stab stuff for fun"

    LOL. Fuck yeah man!

  • jeff.

i want a tactical blade and im in doubt between an emerson and a zero tollerance.

the price is equal and i got the image that the difference basicly, emersons are simple and the ZT are fancy.

i got some disapointment with kershaw folders in the past and the only emerson i bought was a fake : ).

can you (or some friend in the channel) give me some advice?

    thanks

    TKT

    from japan

  • Great review as always!!!!

  • opps your right

  • For me, the discs always seemed to unscrew then eventually got lost (but I haven't used one in years)

Did you mention a price range?

I thought Emersons are / were fairly expensive

  • U should review a very simple knife and cheap and I am not in the market to buy somthing over $50 and I want a fixed blade so I'm am thinking about the gerber big rock anyways next time u go to walmart u should check it out and do a review

  • I woudl say to check otu the frost moras then for $10 you get one heck of a fixed blade...and I do have a video on them...

  • that thumb disc does not look like an issue, my brother has a walmart knife with a thumb disc and it works fine, what i dont really like are those holes that spyderco uses

  • I believe the finish on the blade is a ceramic coating. And the back spacer is G10.

    Great review Jeff!

  • I really want The cqc-15 bts any thoughts on that particular knife?

  • Don't apologize for the long videos, man! Long ones are usually the only ones worth watching! You see a three minute video on something, and you know there's gonna be hardly any information in it. You see 24 minutes, and you know you're getting some good dirt.

  • Don't personally care for Emerson's, but a terrific review nonetheless.

    Thank you

  • joow jeff, doesnt the knife bend to the left when u cut things becouse its only beveld on 1 side

  • Great review. The history was great

  • @TheGunsDoKillPeople then i'll carry a gun

    "Oh noes!!! dont do that!"

  • wow, well I better turn in my guns. I have had them for 4 years and yet to do anything like that. I guess I should return them and get ones that really work.

I cant wait till someone atempts to harm you and you will be defenseless.

  • @TheGunsDoKillPeople I'll take my chances ;)

  • wow, big surprise. another unsolicited statistic without citation. I know 6 people who have been carrying for over 20 years and have never shot an innocent person. I have carried for 10.

  • @TheGunsDoKillPeople if you carry a gun you have a 100% better chance of defending yourself against an attacker or criminal with a gun than if you were empty handed...

  • Provide me with a 24 hour security team and I will stop carrying.

  • I Will Take A Knife Over Hand to Hnad Combat Any Day

  • a knife gives you an advantage period, but I cant condone using ANY wespon on an unarmed person unless they are seriously massive and you think they will beat you to death...

  • @TheGunsDoKillPeople learn how to fight? Actually, if you yourself took martial arts, like i do, you would know that a lot of martial arts do teach the use of weapons. You are the lazy one who sits inside all day on youtube. Don't talk about learning to fight, when you know nothing of the subject.

  • @TheGunsDoKillPeople Yes Exactly cuz i dont feel that my fat ass has to get up and learn now if ur gonna hate dont do it here asshole callin me fat and lazy fuck you

  • stabbed by who? This would assume someone is trying to kill me. I guess I should just call the police. Oh, wait. How am I going to do this while someone is trying to kill me.

  • @TheGunsDoKillPeople your 83 times more likely to die unarmed than you are to die with a weapon...

  • And 60% of all unicorns are child molesters...

  • @NPSurvival

    OWCH my childhood *falls dead*

  • you said fixed blade at 6:43

  • i think it would be really cool if you included knife history in more of your knife reviews, or just have knife history videos altogether. Thanks!!! =)

    5/5

  • Yo Man when is that twinkie thing going to happen

  • in like 10 years...naw but i dont think anytime soon..

  • Awesome review and great history info Jeff! 5/5

  • my god its beautiful!!!! askin fer one on my birthday :D

  • wow, thanks for the lil heads up sharpening. im def a new knife sharpener and i have a crkt that should only be sharpened on one side, i didn't know that last week though....hopefully i didnt mess it up by sharpening it wrong

  • i love the blade of that knife... i want one :)

  • youtube like him

  • Unfortunatly i dont think i can really appreciate an emerson, i cant get past the chisel grind and price tag. though i really love the simple construction and the handle design, 5/5

  • it looks almost like rhino skin

  • best idea for combat folder is to go with fixed blade instead...

  • what a name CQC7BWSF

  • is the pocket clip on the Emerson positioned for left hand carry or right hand carry?

  • Awesome review Jeff. that wasn't that long of a review. Nutn likes to get close to an hour some times .

  • newer ones arent chisel ground

  • That is a sweet looking blade. But with a price of over $100, it would put a dent in someone's wallet.

  • @cheese22092 If you don't like the long videos, unsubscribe be we all love them.

  • love a bit of history! great job! rock on! greets from east germany!

  • I liked all the detail and the long review thanks Jeff 5 stars-Joshua

  • cool knife great review

  • 24 min?:D long review but awesome

  • lets see your current knife collection

  • finally! great video, jeff

  • you can send it back to emerson for sharpening. thats what i would do.

  • the irony is Jeff on a tanto blade, I like a combo edge.

  • i see the let handed version of this knife very nice to see it again

  • its the benchmade 970

  • Jeff?how many knives do you have?

  • thats almost exactly like the benchmade model i have i hate chisel grinds the best things these style knives are for is self defense thats about it. it is a nice knife i just wished sharpening it was easyer

  • Emersons Rock!

  • real good review loved the history on emerson.

  • great great job jeff

  • awsome video!!!!!

  • cool

  • this one looks really nice. The blade it self is pretty futureistic, making the wholo knife really cool. i wish i had this knife... how much is it?

  • Good Review, To me it looks like the person who sharpened it did a great job but id need a jewelers magnifying class to tell for sure

  • awesome knife, i have the super version and unlike my cqc 8 i had no liner lock problems with it.

  • nice
