  • To the family of Maj. York: thank you for Don's service to his country, and special thanks for providing this beautiful, moving video. It serves as a living tribute to Maj. York, and is certain to bring solace and comfort to many in their hour of grief. My father (Col, USA, ret.) will soon have the honor of services and burial at Arlington. Our family has used this video to prepare for the event, and for this we are profoundly grateful. With regards and respect, TV McCarthy

  • thank you for your fathers service he is a true hero reminds me of my fathers service we barried him in 09 can i ask you why did it take from oct to feb to barrie him

  • @1976bigjon

I’m very sorry about your loss. The waiting time was due to the fact that Arlington National Cemetery has a hard time keeping up with requests for military honors burial arrangements. With our troops fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan, the waiting time has increased substantially in the last few years. Military honors are rendered by the 3rd Infantry Regiment, also known as “The Old Guard,” and the regiment can perform only so many ceremonies per day; I believe the number is six.

  • thumbs up if you cried like i did

  • just a minor correction, the speech that was given during the flag presentation was as follows:

This flag is presented on behalf of a grateful nation as an expression of appreaction for the honorable and faithful service rendered by your loved one.
