I tried to put a song in it, but it says: "Insufficient memory!!!"

  • hey, idk why, but i recently feel like making music. i am absolutely clueless about how to start. all i know is that i have a piano keyboard. i recently heard a piano song that i think would be pretty nice if i add so hip hop in it. how do i do this? what do i need? is there something that can add sounds or change the sounds to a song? eventually i want to work my way up to creating my own piano song that i can edit/remix.

    thanks

  • wast of time u got no even skills for this tutorial u suckssssssssssssssss

  • NICE tutorial-- the first one I've found that actually gives me a good solid idea of what working on the MPC is really like. Great job, no nonsense...

  • i have the mpc500... i don't know if its just my mpc but do the output sound really low compared to other devices... my triton overpowers it.... i don't get it... the master output is set to 0db. is really annoying

  • i have an mpc1000 n this vid is the best on youtube to help u with ur mpc

  • Man I probably will have some difficulty learning how to use this when I get one,but oh well I will figure it out,so can I just plug the MPC into my laptop when i get it and play the music through the laptop, does the MPC have its own speakers, and how do I make the tracks to where I can upload them onto a computer so I can make them official beats that can be played on a computer. And can the MPC 500 work with FL Studio?

  • Rob bachi lick my sacki

  • Why exactly do you have to use a different track for each instrument?

Just so if you mess up one, you don't need to redo everything?

If you mess up one instrument when recording all the sounds in one track, say, a late snare hit, can you erase that one instrument?

I'm thinking about getting one of these, and I'd just like to know some more about the interface.

  • Your videos are so helpful for the MPC 500! I hope you do more. Please, that riosbeatz kid sucks *ss!

  • excellent and genuine tutorial, thanx alot.

  • great job, helped alot :D

  • AKAI NEEDS TO GET THEIR SHIT TOGETHER WITH THE DEFECT PADS I HAVE THE 1000

  • Can you record your own stuff on to it?

  • Hey man! Great video! I have a problem with my MPC500. I made some samples in FL and exported them in .Wave . Then i formated the CF card so it was empty, then i loaded all my samples in there, now i can only load about 2 samples then the MPC says "Insufficience Memory". Its pretty annoying when youre eager to make som music!

I really hope u can help me, Peace!

  • @MrBuddaha how big are your samples and how much ram does your mpc have ;)

  • How much is this? im ginna try and invest in this cuz im gonna have a band soooon and where gonna have like a kills/dead weather sound in our band.

  • I like your videos, using the screen flow, and you teach us how to do it step by step. A lot of videos online don't do this! It's nice because we can mimic what you're doing step by step to create our beats. Thanks and I look forward to watching more of your video! Good job!

  • you should do more tutorials on chopping and sample

  • how do u chop samples

  • Hey man, that was really informative and helped me getting a grasp of the sequencing process. You should continue with these videos 'cause it helps us newbies get good working idea of how ish works with these fun little toys known as MPC 500's.

    Thanks.

  • I'm thinking about getting one but i've one question: How much instruments and drum kits are there in there when you buy it and how is that expandable??

  • It comes empty, you got to load it up yourself.

  • I noticed when you were taping the pad it sounded like you were double taping the pads and it didn't record is that a glitch... what is that it gets very annoying.

  • This not hard once you get the hang of it took me 3 days watching videos but MPC Is gay dont believe the hype it's cool an all you make beats on the fly no stoping but it's horrible to set up files saveing loading programs aka templates it's all time comsuming.

  • man this thing is so hard to understand....

  • Hey guys I have a question. I'm about 2 purchase a sampler and am having trouble deciding whether 2 get this or the Korg Micro Sampler. I don't know how 2 use a keyboard but I'm willing 2 learn, personally I think I can get more loose with keys than pad but I wanted your guy's opinion. MPC 500 or Korg Microsampler?

  • how did you video yourself!! it's awesome!! the window in your video. What software did you use?

  • I used a program called "ScreenFlow".. it's a program for Mac meant to record your actions on the screen, and add your webcam.. for this video, instead of displaying what was happening on my computer screen (which was nothing), I imported a seperate video clip that I recorded with a camera mounted above the MPC

  • @DJRobStiles

sup can you show me or tell me what the time correction is for

  • @DJRobStiles where do you get all the sounds?

  • Does MPC 500 can chop the semples?

  • @MrSempler yes. and work on your grammar please.

  • @SquaredG2 i`m sorry) i`m not from USA))))))

  • it depends what you mean do you want your drum kit on a pad or piano keys loaded on the pad, cause those are two different ways on how to load them but if anybody has question on the mpc500 message me for direct answer

  • Thanks danime but what about the kits that are within the MPC, do I have to create a new program and lad the kits that way? I've been trying but it keeps loading the pre-set ones. I'm trying to load some keys and basses.

  • Hey Rob, how do I pull other drum kits out of the MPC? I can't figure out how to load them or how to use an 808, the basses, and keys together. I've been trying for about 2 weeks and it's real frustrating.

  • @hessdawg03 isnt it more frustrating when they dont reply

  • @hessdawg03 well since he not replying the way how i do it, is have a usb connected to the computer from your mpc 500 go to MODE then LOAD (PAD5) scroll a the way to the left and then an icon on the computer should pop up with a folder click that and then create a folder load your sample into the create folder disconnect safely then scroll right and it should say load:programs press right cursor and scroll to Sample and press down on your cursor and scroll right til you see you folder

  • For the record, I no longer work for Akai, so I hardly ever sign onto YouTube anymore. To load more programs/kits, hit "Mode" then the pad for "Load." Then you can preview different programs and load them up, or you can pick individual samples to create your own program. If you want drums, bass, and keys all on the same program, you'll probably have to create your own. If I remember correctly, the "808" samples are actually named "8-oh-8" on the MPC.. hope that helps!

  • @hessdawg03 Read the manual you idiot!

  • thanks for the tut rob. i just wish you had the backlight on so i could see whats going on a little better

  • I actually tried it with the light on first, but it made it even more impossible to see what was on the screen. I did my best to zoom in and verbally explain what it was saying on there, but after several hours of messing with different setups, this produced the best images. Sorry!

  • and did you try watching it in "HD"? That does help quite a bit in being able to read the display.. just thought I'd throw it out there!

  • I like you rob. your a good guy...

  • this mpc500 is nice! Thanks Rob!! still tryna figure things out, but i'm goin' along as i watch the video...how much memory does it have?

  • i love technoligy and thnk you for showing me how to use this mpc 500

  • Man I want one of these. I'm new to all of this...does it come pre-loaded with samples? I can port new ones in too, right?

This is all I can think about...

  • yeah...you turn the dial to usb....hook in usb to the computer and drop..samples...loops...into the folder...and you can load them up on the usb and assign them to the pads or banks a b c or d

  • @JonasTeh81

it does come pre-loaded with a few samples and yes, you can get a memory card of 128mb and port in new ones.

    Greetings

  • Hey, I have a question about the mpc500. On various reviews it says you can sample on the go. Does that mean it has a built in mic? Can you explain this a bit?

    Thanks

  • no...they say that because its portable and can run on ac power supply or AA batteries...unlike the other mpcs that are bulkier

  • hey man i love my 500. i am just having trouble putting together my sequences in the right order. I can lay em down hot I just think its more of a music theory thing. I played the drums for about 3 years so im not an idiot

  • LOL put ur drum hits on one track why waste ur time i oulda made that drunm beat in 10 sec

  • Because then I couldn't use the Track Mute to mute individual parts

  • More people need to get up on this man.

  • I know it! It's a cool little piece. Thanks for checking it out!

  • i am a first time owner of the mpc

and i love the 500 only problems i have been having is saving my pad assigns and sequences.
