  • Quad Core Q6600

  • What were your pc specs?

  • At 30/31 seconds you changed focus did you have a lens adapter on there or was that all done by the vixia hf10? I actually own a hf10 and am deciding if I should get some lenses. Mainly trying to get the close object in focus and the background blurry. Thoughts? Your help is appreciated!

  • @TheAwesomeJassim Hi. The focus change was done in camera with the stock lens. It's no big thing, but you need to have the iris pretty wide open and not be at the wider end of the lens to get a pull focus effect...

  • some great shots there. well done

  • Only heard about the wonders of neo scene today. Do you know if there is an online version that can be purchased? Since getting a box to Denmark can take some time and I do videos almost on a daily basis. I have almost the same HD camcorder as you. THe HF200. How long does it take to convert the AVCH (mts) material (raw) to AVI using Cineform Neo Scene?

  • is Cineform Neo Scene a free converter?

  • No, it costs about £100, but well worth it...

  • @robindr When you convert using Neo Scene.. Does it convert the audio with it? or just the movie?

  • how did you bring the avchd file into premiere pro cs3

  • by using Cineform Neo Scene to convert to large avi files.

  • you can't bring in avchd into prem cs3 without converting it first. pro cs4 has native editing for AVCHD though

  • robindr why didnt u film the street on tylorstown Vivian and Brinbedw

  • I use Neo Scene by Cineform. I either select the camera as a source or take the SD card out and use an USB card reader and import the video files from that.

  • what kind of cineform hd link you have?, cause i have cineform hd link 1,5 and when i connect my camera to my computer cineform says that it hasn't found any device. i have a samsung vphmx20c camcorder :)

  • how big was this file when you uploaded it ? :)

  • 139 Mb (as an mp4 file)

Normall, I use mpeg2 for saving items - bigger file size, but much smoother cleaner video...

  • did you shoot this?

  • Yes of course - why do you ask?

  • it is amazing that's why.

  • Thank you!

However, as a tv director / cameraman, it's what I do anyway (and I've been at it a long long time...)

  • im only 14 and i plan on going into the camera business. i just cant afford HD camera

  • Thanks Rays!

I selected the "maintain source frame rate" as it was shot as 25p, so I didn't want to confuse the software - if that were possible...

Neo Scene is very good, isn't it!

  • Thanks for the info! Yes Neo Scene IS very good. I have a Canon HV30 which I love, but I must say, the HF series are looking very good...do you have any issues with the AVCHD format?

  • I use a PC running an Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 which is fine. You also need an editing programme that can run AVCHD as well. Since I already had Premiere Pro CS3 (which can't handle AVCHD natively) and being used to the Adobe products, I bought Premiere Elements 7, which I think is a fantastic little programme for the price. But if I need to make a more complicated edit, that's where Neo Scene comes in - I can convert AVCHD and edit quite happily in CS3.

    Hope this helps

  • Very nice footage! I've been trying out the Cineform Neo Scene, and was wondering about the preference settings you used...Did you select "maintain source frame rate" or "convert to 24P" (or 25P in this case) Just tying to learn about this!

    Thanks,

    Ray

  • C'est Pays de Galles - pas Angleterre!!! :-)
