i like the doody and its great that he can play guitar and all (i cant ) but the whole song was kind of well bland. in my play we have like everyone be back up for doody and than girls like screaming i love you etc to doody cose he is supposed to be like a rock star, yet it seemed like your doody was singing a campfire song but he defineatley has a better voice than me :D

The singing is adequate and Doody certainly puts his heart into the number, but I agree the choreography of the others is just plain awful! This musical number is about Doody (& by extension all teenagers) experiencing those "magic changes", the guitar chords & melodies Doody is learning being a metaphor for the "changes" brought on by puberty and the first feelings of love. The focus of the audience MUST be centered on Doody as he expresses through his song the feelings he is starting to have .

@tuxtommy69 I'd have to disagree with you. The actors in this version of Grease are just fooling around and having a good time. There isn't any set choreogrophy, its just the girls and guys improvising and having a good time. I think this was well done.

@jenniferxroseex3 On second thought I think you are probably correct that the others are improvising and were not choreographed. However, I still find it distracting and think their movements (such as swaying to the music) should be kept to a minimum and they should be looking at Doody as he sings and experience vicariously what he is feeling. In my opinion, this is a very important musical number in Grease expressing what is going on between Danny & Sandy, Rizzo & whatshizname!, etc.

The girls and 2 guys are completely upstaging the main focal point- being Doody singing. It's VERY distracting. Especially the kick-line.....

We used four tripods that we painted with the main areas. One said of each pair was the lockers at the school, one was the burger shop, one had just a house type scene on it and the other side was black with the grease car logo for the other scenes. It was very simple and the tri-pods made it really easy to change the scene without using a bunch of props

Thanks! I definitely want to say that the director of the show did not give me any choreography/ really any blocking for the number. This was about 1 year ago and it still bothers me to this day that she never told us what to do for my song. It was the first musical that I really got to sing in and I have to be thankful for it!
