As unbelievable as it is, Marty was having chest pains as he performed with the Mandrell sisters in this video. Two days later he went into the hospital with his second diagnosed heart attack.
As a young man i see marty perform not long after this and i stil have the memories now still listen to his voice most days, great singer an story teller through songs.long live his memory.
For JC3494, Yes the blond one is Barbara and the bruenette is either one of her sisters Irlene or Louise. Marty was one of the greatest performers there were. RIP Marty
Yes, he's one of my all-time favorites and they classify him as country because there's not really a category to put him in, like you said. He had a little rock, country, gospel, and pop in him. He pretty much changed the face of music forever. Thanks, Marty for what you brought to us during your lifetime.
Marty was like several other artists, not exactly country, put in that category because there was no other place to put him. Unique, strong voice, a real gift to us, RIP and thanks for what you brought us.
Thank you MissJudi it is alway´s great when I hear that we''the fans,of the great Marty Robbins will never forget this man with the greatest voice I ever heard, and I think that there never will be such a voice again, because Marty put so much feeling and love in it that nomatter what song he sang it always sounds great, because of all the great songs this man gave us together with his two compadres Don and Bill and his band I love them. And I love you MissJudi for being such a great fan of Marty.

I found no second singer's voice is comparable to Marty's in a romantic fashion, not even Elvis's.
