  • You are clueless, President of Firestorm Entertainment or not, most touring productions do approx. 8 shows, and for that matter most non-equity tours will sometimes do more. I can list them if you like. And I could care less about your tour of Peter Pan.

  • I saw Malia on tour in Jacksonville March 2008. I really enjoyed her performance, but I thought that she screamed some of her high notes-like in Rainbow High. Also, when she would do "star quality", she would say very forcefully. Which wasn't bad, I'm just used to that part being sung low.

Altogether, I really liked her performance

  • Listen to live performances...... no one sings it low live. And I mean no one. Not Patti Lupone or Elaine. There is no way she could scream 8 times a week, she can belt the way most women try.

  • This was the tour, I would say they played maybe 4 shows a week, not 8. 8 Shows is usually only on a Broadway thing.

  • You are incorrect, the tour performed generally at least 8 times a week. Sometimes less, sometimes more. But generally 8 a week was the average. I live in NYC- I think I understand "broadway" things clearly more that yourself. Most professional shows, regional or tour, perform 7-8 shows a week.

  • Look at the schedule for any touring musical production. The average shows will be on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Saturday may entail 2 shows, but rarely. The reason behind this is two fold. #1 is that it takes a while to tear down, move and setup a show, also that most venues will not schedule shows on Sunday, Monday or Thursday, due to low attendance.

Also, the cast and crew general will require days off, as per union contracts.

  • Also, if, as you say, shows are performed 8 times per week, that would mean at least 1 show EVERYDAY and 2 on Saturday. How does this leave travel time? Break days, etc... Your forgetting, most shows play 1 day at a Theater, then move to another one, which take time to travel in between.

8 shows per week is almost impossible for a large scale touring production. Trust me, I know. I'm the president of Firestorm Entertainment, which is launching a tour of Peter Pan this spring.

  • Umm You clearly don't know what you are talking about. I was a member of this tour and we absolutely did 8 shows and and sometimes we would 10-12 shows without a day off. This was a non-union show which obviously didn't play by union rules. Most stops were one-nighters meaning we would bus there in the morning check-in to our hotel, go to sound check, get dinner, do the show , then back to our hotel and crash. Waking up the next morning at 5:00 OR 6:00 am to do it all over again.

  • AND if you think WE had it bad, our crew had it twice as bad. They would tear down immediately after every show, get loaded and on the road around 2:00 am. They would sleep what they could on there sleeper bus and once they got to the next city they would start load in around 9:00 - 10:00 am. They had minimal to no break before they would work the show and then do it all over it again. The only time they got rest and sleep in an actual hotel bed was when we would have a 2-3 day sit-down.

  • LIza! I mean Oprah! I mean MAAAALIIIIIIIIAAAAAAA! I love you so!
