Almost everything i agree with, There is one thing you forgot. There are some life skills like basic Math, that you need to use in certain points in life but, Social Studies,Science,all that crap you NEVER use considering your job choice.

This is the last day of my Christmas break and tommorow I have to begin the final semester of my ninth grade year.
School depresses me so bad and all I want is to go to alternative school but my parents won't listen to me and think that going to alternative school lowers my education.
I really believe that if I had a gun I would kill myself just to escape my everyday routine.

When I try to teach students something new or different they spit at me. They use me and abuse me in the classroom. And more times than not they think I am stupid. I am not. I only want to help them. I do know of TPTW. I am a victim of their greed. I want to help them break their bonds. But you need to understand all the disciplines work together to give you a well rounded education. I tell kids they don't get a real education in school.
I have two responses for you. 1. Leonardo Da Vinci and 2. I work in the system as a substitute teacher. I have for almost 30 years. I have because I couldn't not get a regulr teaching job despiting my many attempts at trying. TPTW did something to my college that allowed many of our institutions to shut me out of a better paying job. But that is not my major gripe here.

BTW, I've known since like Kindergarden that school = indoctrination. I tried to tell them that, and they hired someone for all of elementary school to watch my every move and shut me up. This is coming from a straight A student, so its not like I'm just saying this stuff because I'm bad at school.
Actually the real learning comes in University or College and I swear on my life, the best "way" to decide what you want to do or study is to attend in "some" course because if not that or an apprentice in a trade or creating a business you will so regret it when your older.
There's a book came out this year by Earl Nightengale (his wife never wanted it published) it's called "The Interview with the Devil", of course I don't entirely think it's true however there's a section on schools, and usually those who attend these public schools are somewhat more or less trained to just "drift" through.....meaning that they don't entirely focus on what they want to create, yet then again, the schools don't allow that.....?? makes sense doesn't it!
You can educate yourself in 1/100 the time and at 1000% the level of schools by visiting KHAN ACADEMY And it is interesting and fun! About damn time! AND IT'S 100% FREEEEEEE!

Oh you are so amazing! And so important! Let your voice be heard! I am 30 years old, and trust me when I say I shared your views but I had already forgotten who I was, crippled with fear and shame. I knew the first minute as I sat down in the first class of school that it was madness, and I thought I was alone. Now I know I am not, and you should know that you aren't either. @d3ejmz very true, i a have had some magnificent teachers who truly loved what they did, but the system limited their capacity to teach the way they WANTED to. There needs to be many changes, for the kids AND the teachers. XD love-namaste

BTW, I've known since like Kindergarden that school = indoctrination. I tried to tell them that, and they hired someone for all of elementary school to watch my every move and shut me up. This is coming from a straight A student, so its not like I'm just saying this stuff because I'm bad at school.

Actually the real learning comes in University or College and I swear on my life, the best "way" to decide what you want to do or study is to attend in "some" course because if not that or an apprentice in a trade or creating a business you will so regret it when your older.

There's a book came out this year by Earl Nightengale (his wife never wanted it published) it's called "The Interview with the Devil", of course I don't entirely think it's true however there's a section on schools, and usually those who attend these public schools are somewhat more or less trained to just "drift" through.....meaning that they don't entirely focus on what they want to create, yet then again, the schools don't allow that.....?? makes sense doesn't it!

I am 51 and have known since a child I was being indoctrinated in school.I looked like the crazy mom when I fought for my childrens freedom to be different in school. U ARE NOT ALONE. Dear Joshua, Thank YOU ... for taking the time and making the effort to share this message. This truth is being realized (finally) by many (although many still do not understand). I'm 52 years old and I HATED school (except for Kindergarten) and I struggled through until I stopped going in 9th grade (wasn't permitted to quite at that time but I flat out refused. Bravo!! BTW I am 45 years old, and all my friends that "made" it, became some-one by following their bliss (and they usually have been terrible students or schoold drop-outs). The ones that were good back then in school, are sitting now some-where at a desk doing some boring job.
