  • Excellent response! Subbing today.

  • WOW. SO FREAKING WELL-SAID! XD

  • great vid! i remember talking to a lady about locks (i had them years ago) and misconceptions, stereotypes etc. but she totally derailed the convo by saying that it was different for me because i was 'light-skinned' (i'm not, i'm brown) than for a dark woman with locks. my point is that there's almost always random BS that can ruin a potentially beneficial exchange.

  • Just subscribed! You made some great points! Even if we all looked EXACTLY alike we would still find a way to great in/out groups.

  • Just subscribed! You made some great points! Even if we all looked EXACTLY alike we would still find a reason to not like each other.

  • well said.

  • Girl, write a book because you have a realistic knowledge that I like. Common Sense. The best comment about Nikki's video on youtube. I like how you are deflating the negativity. I think you are positive and giving Nikki postive food for thought as we all should do, especially women of color. Super great posting!!!!

  • You go girl! Booooyaa!

  • I love this video. :-)

  • Well said! Amen

  • Great Vid

  • I am wondering if there were other women at the forum who had hair like hers and how were they received. She was probably only one of a very few but I am wondering what their experience was.

  • @mpenny226 from the comments on her initial video, other people who were there were saying the whole event was somewhat unprofessional. so i am thinking she felt slighted due to her texture and the unprofessionalism probably made it sting worse. :-/

  • thank you for this posting. it is great to see different viewpoints.

  • @faqu529 you are welcome

  • Wow - that's the truth!

  • I guess wad I'm sayin is people should think like animals n dat way ..

  • @lovelychick771 i agree, people, like animals come in various ways

  • In tha natural hair events I'd pick out tha sista wid tha most nappiest hair n straightest n take a picture wid her .. Cus it shows I dont see difference .. It's tha "difference" n us dat make us who God made all 2 b n test our level of love 4 his creation he put on earth .. We should b more like God animals .. Dey don't complaim about tha different spots r stripes der given .

  • Very constructive and intelligent reasoning!

  • Enjoyed ur vid. I ask spanish, white, asian, black, etc. about how they achieved a color or style. I don't care. If I like your hair and I wanna know something, Imma ask you. Some look at me and say you got that kinky black hair. I be like yeah now what did you do to get that look? Just about everybody used similar products and techniques. It really depends on what works for you. Curly hair is curly hair. A white girl would tell me of her issues with stylist who didn't know how to cut her hair.

  • @zheahra i agree, i am the same way. if i like your hair i will ask you about it. thanks for watching & commenting. :)

  • agree with you totally!!! When you let Christ rule your life we can begin to embrace one another showing love and respect

  • @freesoup09 LOL, I know, right?!

  • If we were all just clones, we'd be white.. jk. xD Good points though.. :)

  • Thank You,you said it girl!!!!

We'd miss out on soooo many cool women

if we did or didn't talk to them based on hair type.

I'm more concerned about the bonds of sisterhood we

build more than the bonds is our hair. Let the healing begin

and let it start with me.

  • @prowoman I love this. I will be the one to start the positive interaction and create the change I want to see within me and from other women. Women deal with so much and we can share and help one another so much if we stop allowing dumb mess to get in the way.

  • So well said!

  • @joy7wonders thanks for watching! :)

  • Excellent points sis and I agree with you totally. Sorry to say its a mindset and taught concept. The only way to change is by subtle confrontation, such as your approach, letting someone know how you feel, which sets you both at ease and opens the door for conversation.

  • @flavawear Right. I really feel like communication opens the door for the healing process.
