What this series lack insight on is the roll of corporatism as the real driving force behind the American ideology. They want "freedom" so capitalists can exploit the resources of these countries and the people can be converted to a self interested consumer society. They also don't have any problem with tyrants if the tyrants help them achieve this end (Saddam in the 80s vs. Saddam in the 90s.)

@arisuta2 The problem with claiming that there is an NWO conspiracy is that it's basically an unfalsifiable belief. Theoretically, there ought to be something that could come to attention that would disprove the claim that there is a conspiracy. I doubt most conspiracy-theorists could think of such a thing. In that sense, it's a bit like a religion.

I agree, though, with your implication that the darker side of history is often ignored.

I think that it is at least like George Carlin said, these people meet up regularly in their day to day dealings and leisure activities and they have common goals and ideals so they generally go with that flow and if others get fucked over in the process, too bad. The Bilderberg group really do meet officially, that you have to admit.
