Today, I got an electric shaver hoping that it would reduce the risk of cutting myself than shaving with a manual one. However, I cut myself opening the plastic package with the shaver inside.
As packagers we hate these clamshells as well. The problem isn't packagers though, it's thieves. If packaging is too easy to open they will open them in the store and steal the products. Stores demand this type of security in an effort to keep costs down. It's unfortunate that nice people like you get caught in the middle of it but that's the sad reality.
serioulsy it's unbelievable how companies thinks like idiots. It is so important to know what good design means and in this case it's obviously not there lol...and with all this plastic...oh boy!
lol. I know. spatio has it right, though. If only we the consumers could be trusted not to rip the product out of the package before we purchase it, that would change everything. I buy as many floor models as I can because of this reason (and the cheaper cost).

I'm suprised thier hasn't been liability claims of injury that has forced packagers to make openeing more easy.
