O.o according to nintendo, arceus is god. read its pokedex description. And mew is the kind of equivalent to the first people, if arceus is God. What are they trying to do?

Way I see it- Mew created pokemon, Arceus created the world, and something else made humans... which gives them the perfect final legendary for next generation. All three are Gods, but Arceus got lazy and got Mew to make the legendaries to take care of the world so he could sleep in. (say 'he' because most assume God to be male)

The way I see it is Arceus created Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, and about 934 Mews. That's 493 Pokemon minus 25 "one-of-a-kind" legendaries, times two, for male and female. Every Mew except one used Transform and became the Pokemon we know today. This theory explains why Mew can use Transform and also why Mew can learn every TM and HM in existence.

Um, Voltorb and Electrode are mutated, sentient, Pokeballs, Staryu and Starmie are...like RL starfish in that they're hermaphroditic or something, and Ditto asexually reproduces BECAUSE THEY'RE DITTO. Maybe an ancient techno-cult created the Magnemite evolutionary line and the Beldum evolutionary line? If you or anyone else has suggestions, i'd love to hear them!

the way i see it, the genderless, non-legendary pokemon are-like you said for voltorb and electrode-sentient objects.  whether they be robots, weird anthromorphic blobs, starfish that don't have genders in real life, or even bells (bronzong), they're pokemon, none the less. mewtwo shows us all that pokemon can be created artificially...
