You aren't required to do anything, simply because your brother has taken a certain path does not mean you have to follow in his footsteps, in fact, thinking in such a way will only deny you admissions. You have to be unique and you have to find your own path.

This TV Show like all media puts a spin on the story to make it more interesting to viewers. Stanford students don't take classes that are all like this. Past examples have been "Simpsons episodes, Eastern Medicine, and hiphop culture". I think this class is pretty interesting.
All I'm saying is that it is unfair to "normal" college students who don't pay $50,000/year, to learn about worthless crap, like the Simpsons. I guess money can get you anything.
you need a high GPA to get in. at stanford there is a wide distribution of GPAs because most classes are plenty difficult. maybe this class is an easy A, maybe it isn't, but what i've heard is that these people are making lots of money, and that isn't always so easy.
you have a pretty closed minded view of what a university education is about, especially at a school like stanford. we're already smarter than everyone, so why not study things that are interesting and relevant? classes like these are why people go to stanford. taking cs 101 102 103...and so on on some boring, typical university track doesn't really separate you from the other college students, nor is it any fun. stanford's innovative and allows you to branch out.
Facebook sucks. It's all about hooking you to tacky and useless bells and whistles designed to gather information to sell you to advertisers. It's a mistake to hand so much power to a 23 year old CEO. I trust Myspace more than I trust this kid which is saying something. At least Myspace allows people to make moves and network and promote projects (the American way), rather than merely consume games and compare taste in bad hollywood movies and other such crap (the zombie way).

Actually many of their professors did graduate from state schools but have since proven themselves in their fields. State schools can't compete with the salaries from private schools such as Stanford. Also they have a great deal of resources. I went to a state school but I would have loved to study under Steven Pinker or Steven Jay Gould from Harvard if given the opportunity.

One of the advantages of going to a school such as Stanford is that your professors are generally leaders in their fields and budgets run high. While there are people who attend such university who don't deserve too (Bush), there are also many intelligent people.
I know a TA for this class and a number of folks who have taken it. I recommend it highly to the other students out there. Very fun, great professor, and of course it's great to see something you made and can be proud of in action.
Aren't they all? 3rd party apps are probably whats gonna kill facebook. Ok, sure there are some (very few) useful ones, but facebook is now essentially myspace with less privacy, and more annoy.

Actually many of their professors did graduate from state schools but have since proven themselves in their fields. State schools can't compete with the salaries from private schools such as Stanford. Also they have a great deal of resources. I went to a state school but I would have loved to study under Steven Pinker or Steven Jay Gould from Harvard if given the opportunity.

One of the advantages of going to a school such as Stanford is that your professors are generally leaders in their fields and budgets run high. While there are people who attend such university who don't deserve too (Bush), there are also many intelligent people.

I know a TA for this class and a number of folks who have taken it. I recommend it highly to the other students out there. Very fun, great professor, and of course it's great to see something you made and can be proud of in action.

Aren't they all? 3rd party apps are probably whats gonna kill facebook. Ok, sure there are some (very few) useful ones, but facebook is now essentially myspace with less privacy, and more annoy.
