  • @tomthefunky americans love ireland so feel free to coem to ireland

  • Sweeeeeeet

  • That Jeff Beck has good taste....Imelda ROCKS!!!!

Jools Holland has such a great show...I love it!!!!

  • Congratulations Imelda on your million listens! Great music!

  • This is the true way to make music! Makes me thing of Madredeus from the film 'Lisbon Story'. Though totally different, it makes me think of it.

  • Ol school - excellent

  • listen cretins, if she was obese and ugly you would not look at this video. that's the difference between the old days and now. back in the old days it didn't matter what you looked like e.g. bill haley, fats domino, big bopper - all with talent, attitude and cool. Now all you have to have is a pretty face and not be disabled. And yes this kind of music was around before Amy Whino-house cretins. I don't need shit house radio telling me to listen this type of music, i listen to the real deal !

  • @thechannelers your such a judgmental tool.................

  • @thechannelers ever heard of gossip? adele?

  • @thechannelers Wow what an utter cunt. I don't give a fuck what she looks like, she could be 30 stone for all I care, her voice is amazing. It's hardly her fault she's good looking is it?

  • elle se prandre pour une star

    video nullle!!

  • Wow, just Wow

  • I think I am in love with Al Gare.

  • Honestly the first time I've ever heard anyone actually "PLAY" an upright bass. Cudos Mr. Gare.

  • @johnwygant

    Hello Marcel

I'm French I wonder why do you want to do that ? Can you Kik it ? No you can't hahahahahahahaha

  • @johnwygant

    Hello Marcel

Do you Like french fries ?

  • yeeeeeeeesssssssssss

  • This girl was awesome at V

  • J'adore et le contrebassiste tiens la route !

    EXTRA

  • @livingonanotherplane What's rock 'n' roll about snidey comments? Its Imelda's tour. She can do whatever the hell she likes, its her money thats paying the wages, its her 20 years of slogging around the pubs and clubs that helps out the support bands off the back of her hard work. Why the hell should she tolerate shit like that when there was probably 15 other bands that would have loved the support and would've shown her the respect she deserves?

  • Every time I see this girl, I gotta move something...makes me smile :)

  • She really is fantastic. Love her.

  • she dont av a mil views but she has such support. while bobo has mil plus and no credit on US or even uk

  • cant believe i sang in church with her :)

  • How does Imelda May make it quite big when much better *billy groups remain relatively unheard of. The Coffinshakers, Hillbilly Moon Explosion, Zombina and the Skeletones, The Creepshow, Frantic Flintstones, The Hormonauts etc.

  • @guildwarsSNOW Wow! I can't thank you enough. I've been a rockabilly fan for many years (Robert Gordon and The Shakin' Pyramids to name a couple faves) then i read your comment and immediately went to check out The Coffinshakers. Holy shit! Sickest band I've heard in years. Can't wait to check out the other ones you mentioned. Kinda stuck on the Coffinshakers right now, lolz. Anyways, i am indebted to you and would enjoy talking to you sometime. Props and peace out ;)

  • @manwhassup1 thanks - I will check the two you have given that have escaped me. I have a baby who is 3 months and the Coffinshakers are her fave band. We like Imelda but just wondering why other bands are not making as big as she has... there is a lot of good *billy bands out there that deserve more recognition. You might like KC and the Moonshine Band too. Kitty in a Casket is also worth checking out. The Hell Freaks are visually stunning but the vocals are not as good as Hellcat and the Prowl

  • @guildwarsSNOW

part of it is writing total Bomb hits like Johnny got a Boom Boom....

yeah that's what it takes...and that special strut, confidence and 20 years of paying dues..

that might be part of it..

  • she's a great singer...inspiring.....check out my videos as well and make an old guy very happy..cheers

  • she's kt tunstall meets paloma faith

  • dublin has got someting big /who or what/ i'ts IMElDA MAY ofcourse who else # thick head

  • I just discovered Imelda May and her great band. Just off the top of my head her voice reminded me of Janice Joplin, early Amy Winehouse, and early Gwen Stefani, I really enjoy Imelda's non mainstream style.I live in Southern California. I don't listen to mainstream music.Country and folk ,old outlaw country , old blues ,ska ,swing .some rockabilly ,jazz, rock ,metal and punk to name a few LOL.I really like Imalda and band's style.Keep up the good work.I look forward to seeing y'all live.

  • Not many women anywhere as Sexy as Imelda May. I am in love man. Yeah, and cool song too. ;)

  • Kinda funny to see someone from Europe do Rockabilly. That being said though, her and the guys behind her are great and more than do it justice!

  • i wouldnt call it rockabilly and basses were made to slap

  • That was very cool!!!

  • Heart eh jaysis wharreh ride...

  • Please listen to my music. very influenced by Imelda xx

  • i would die to look like her .-.

  • @MaiaGlor wouldnt do you much good dead, though, eh?

  • @QwoPhasaArius well that's a good point i guess XD

  • I love Brian Setzer, now I love Imelda also! Great stuff!!!!! Darrel Higham rules!

  • Darrel Higham is Imelda May's husband =)

  • Comment removed

  • There used to be a couple of buskers on Grafton Street in the mid to late '80s who played Rockabilly. Any of those guys in the band?

  • She reminds me of amy winehouse

  • This girl is fantastic.....Very sexy

  • brilliant

  • Shes` bloody marvellous! And top notch backing musicians also. Trust Jools to get the very best in live talent on his show, and great to see a Dublin lass carve out a niche in the business without going the route of vacuous talent "talent" shows or sordid explicit videos and appearing half naked on stage.

  • amelda te amo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Without doubt Al Gare is one of the best bass players I've ever seen!

  • i luv imelda may..

  • Wow... great musicians

  • the guy with the shakers dances like that guy from Bronson :D

  • AMAZING SINGER..............AMAZING BAND...............I hope they live forever.

She's Billy Holiday, Janis Joplin, Marilyn Monroe all rolled into one.

  • @kernow234

WOW!!!! I am so hooked. This is remarkable stuff. This is the kind of music makes me want to dance. Ripping band, dynamic singer and boat loads of fun. Seeing them in San Francisco and more...SSSplash.

  • awesome.

  • Much classier and funner to watch than the black-and-white music video that was recorded for this song.

  • LIXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • she looks so natural<3 i love her so much

  • what about the 13 people they dont like this? why are they watchin to it? they mofukkas should shut up, they have no idea what good music is.

  • Imelda is the real deal. Amazing band. Her bass player is the coolest cat ever though.

  • @manwhassup1 thats her husband

  • @TheLFarrell wrong. her husband is Darrel Higham, the guitarist. The bass player is Alan Gare.

  • @TheLFarrell No- he is MY husband ; D

  • @sequinsaff oh woops so sorry

  • supporting prince at music festival on july 3rd 2011...look forward to seeing her...

  • rock `n sex

  • He said David Gilmour in the first 20 seconds... and there he sat.... Epic win already

  • love the way she uses a bodhran a traditional irish drum at the very start

  • 12 stupid peoples.

  • She is great, amazing voice great musicians backing her, great sound, great too look at, great live performance, bloody amazingly great! REALLY LIKE HER!

  • She just opened for Jeff Beck here in the states. Can't wait for her to come back.

  • Amazing May!!!

  • She is one of the best singers that I have heard for years.

  • so tight.

  • Imelda ROCKS!!

  • the "finest" female singer today

  • she makes me think of you mikey

  • she makes me think of you mikey

  • this is AMAZINGGGGGGGGGGGGG

  • Saw her with Sharon Shannon & her big band and she is an utter star. She was so happy to be there and it really shone through in every song she sang- she gave it socks and it showed. Really wish this girl got the credit she deserves for the music she makes.

  • Imelda or the Eurovision 2012. But then again she's bigger then that

  • I want to crawl inside her and go to sleep

  • I am so pleased to have discovered Imelda May. What a gorgeous talented woman! And in this day and age! Gaga and her ilk couldn't carry Imelda's lipstick case!

And good for Jeff Beck. He recognizes true true talent and promotes it. Witness Tal Wilkenfeld.

  • Why has she only got one single? i mean what kind of a world do we live in?she's unbeleivable, i mean fuck me!

But of course Lady Gaga and all that shit get millions???For doing fuck all...

  • What a beautiful talented woman. Her voice is so awesome.

  • i love imelda and I remember DUBLIN WELL, OR NOT SO MUCH I WAS OVER VISITING THE INLAWS AND USUALLY A BIT DRUNK

  • she is sex!! and what a voice

  • Oh, my, she is simply stunning in every way. She's incredibly sexy before she utters a single note, THEN she starts singing. WOW.

  • i didnt turn it off but i arnt goin to buy it. she aint no shania twain lets be honest.cut it loose sod the masses and play some propper rockabilly

  • @phycohogbeast Wow, if you think Shania Twain is good then that says more about your taste than it does about Imelda May, to be honest. Imelda isn't selling herself as pure rockabilly, but is influenced by it.

  • Comment removed

  • Imelda's bass player is none other than the Legendary Al Gare, former double bass player with King Pleasure & The Biscuit Boys ....now he DOES know how to slap a double B! Wadda star!! LOL

  • Absolutely awesome at newcastle feb/2011 The whole band were fantastic! sadly the bouncers were pouncing on anyone trying to record any live footage on there phones, tossers!

  • Borring music for the Come Dine With Me classes

  • off to see Imelda in Sydney 5.3.11. will be brilliant

  • shes infinitely more talented than winehouse...

  • @dspikey You know nothing about music, and you know it

  • seeing her tonight! :D

  • Not only is Imelda a fantstic singer, the band is outstanding!

  • if you need an analysis you don't appreciate raw talent , this woman has class !!

  • @geraldinecostello I know. You seem to have mis-read my previous posts. I was replying to a troll that was posting utter crap on here. Imelda is indeed brilliant.

  • This woman is pure class, professionally and personally !!! she loves her heritage and is proud of who she is, and so she should . . . well done Imelda May !! . . . Ireland should be proud of you !

  • MUITO BOM!!!! ESSA GATA DETONA!!!

  • Imelda, if you come to my country (Chile), you can stay at my house, I sleep on the street

    :)

  • i remember in Dublin in the 80,s there was a scene with rockabilly or pyschobilly bands such as those handsome devils and sharkbait..does anybodyknow if Imelda Mays musicians had any part to play in that era?

  • @dickpox9 I think as her band are English, they wouldn't have been in the Dublin scene, but I think some of Imelda's siblings were very much involved in the scene.

  • @dickpox9 she is a Sister-in-law of Sean Foy, former lead singer of Those Handsome Devils, And I have toured with both hers and her husband's bands (Darrel Higham and the Enforcers) Sharkbait was my first ever band in 1985. Thanks for your comment. S.

  • @ThingintheAttic thanks for that I knew Sean to say hello to and a lot of heads from the Bruxelles late 80s days. Grafton st had Double Bass strewn dudes with check shirts levi 501s from Flip and regent Barber Brylcreamed quiffs up and down the street like it was the 50,s! I Knew it wouldnt be all in vain that one day a PyschoBilly child Star would be Born of that Unique Dubin twist on american Rockabilly..Imelda you are in my opinion the reason it was all worthwhile! Boom Boom!

  • i saw Imelda May at "the Cherrington arms" before she got famous.

    check out thelaurencejonesband . com

  • i saw Imelda May at "the Cherrington arms" before she got famous.

    check out

  • the drummer and bassist are amazing and so is Imelda! I'd love to go see her live!

  • that base player is amazing

  • Wow..She ISSS SPECIAL!!! She will be Huage..I can feel it in my bones!.x

  • Amazing Irish artist, can't wait for her to get worldwide recognition!

  • All the way from the Liberties in Dublin. Fair play Imelda.

  • aaahhhhh, rockabilly........... exquisite

  • @TheLexyboy THAAAAAANK you!! haha, i thought i might have been the only to make that connection

  • girl got soul

  • Jessica Rabbit can sing

  • i wish this woman was found instead of amy winehouse

  • @Gellis2009 ..... In a canal

  • @Gellis2009

She is absolutely magnificent. Superstar in the waiting!!

  • @Gellis2009

She is absolutely magnificent. A superstar!

  • @Gellis2009

She was. That's why you're watching her right now.

  • @flesh86 but the world was waiting for a bluesy type jazzy singer to come along and fill a whole. amy winhouse came and used this kind of appearance then just ruined herself with drugs and lost all respect. another one going down these lines has to shake off the "just another amy winehouse" label.

If emlda may was found instead of winehouse, id be seeing her in concert about now.... dont think my has any lined up some how.

  • @Gellis2009 thats not really fair Winehouse could sing it was the rest that was the problem...

  • @wilbyfilms Winehouse couldn't sing, did you listen to her on shrooms or something? Her voice was screechy and annoying.

  • @Lycan510 What a load of rubbish, Amy may have been a mess and an addict but she could definitely sing!!! Imelda May is brilliant I love this but I really find it, " bad taste after her death" to even compare or whatever these two artists. Saw Imelda on Jools Holand live that night and was so happy to have seen her.

  • @Lycan510 Listen to Amy's version of "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow", amazing!

  • @Gellis2009 Hmmm...the fact that she is on here and has a recording contract means she was indeed found.....you got your wish.

  • @EkkoZero ...instead of amy winehouse. I meant that amy winehouse was the first to bring soul and jazz into the mainstream for a long time. Everyone ate it up, she became massive very quickly but then lost it all because of drug abuse. I think if imelda may was in her place she would of honoured the attention given and show to tours to do perfect performances instead of being stoned and forgetting the words like winhouse. Because she is now second she will not recieve as much attention as amy.

  • @Gellis2009

    Amen to that!

  • @Gellis2009 I love Imelda May and her band. Amy is a fucking train wreck, but pound for pound, she is a better singer. Just saying...

  • Some really serious musicians there!

  • @fancythathat Just what youtube needs - another self-opinionated keyboard gobshite who thinks they know all the answers. Do fuck off.

  • @ikilledawhale . . . . What planet are you on ?????. . . .this is sheer unadulterated genius talent to her fingertips . . . .

  • @geraldinecostello Have I missed something?

  • @ikilledawhale Just because you know I am right and now you are ashamed for saying you like this shite.

  • @fancythathat Stick to using youtube for knocking one off dribbling over 15 year old school girls getting their tits out. That's about the highest mental level you will ever achieve on here.

  • @ikilledawhale Amy Winehouse? shes not in the same league,Imelda is way cooler,

  • @fancythathat You might try to explain yourself young man! Actually, don't bother. I probably know how your riff will go. Cross, cross cross, angry angry angry, mad, mad, mad, and to finish, really cross...

  • @claney01 Me young man... You Old twat... and Imelda May fake fake fake fake fake fake fake faker than fake

  • @fancythathat lol... whats wrong with you?

  • @fancythathat And you jealous talentless no-hoper, jealous talentless no-hoper, jealous talentless no-hoper!! ha ha ha!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @manwhassup1 Wow, James Joyce is on youtube, your erudition is enchanting my liege

  • Tried to find the comment you were talking about, couldn't agree with you more! This wee gorgeous Irish girl is amazing, I find it hard to find people not realizing what a brilliant talent she is!

  • @tumadoireacht You obviously haven't heard much of her singing if you think she just yells, she does such a variety of diffrent styles of songs, many low tempo with no possibility for yelling. And the word talentless is ridiculous to use in reference to Imelda May. So yes, it is just you.

  • @tumadoireacht I couldnt agree more this rubbish if the fakest thing ever, fake fake fake fake Imelda is a big fat fake

  • @fancythathat I'm wondering what possesses you to troll? Are you trying to make up for inadequacies in your life? No talent? Overly introverted? Receding hairline in your teens? Buck teeth? Gender confused? Coke-bottle glasses, frizzy red hair and excessive acne? Please tell me, I am curious....

  • @alanv9 Yeah, I don't have any of those things not one, I just cant see why people would listen to this ugly woman singing in a fake accent, in a fake genre, in a fake place.

  • @fancythathat just shut up

  • @tumadoireacht I do believe its about a dude called Johnny who plays a bass.... the effects the music and sounds he creates with said bass are the topic of the song not a "boner". you wolly.

  • There is something risible about an inner city dubliner putting on an american accent and a lot of make up to yell repeatedly about someone called John having an erection. No one ever went broke underestimating taste.

  • Comment removed

  • @tumadoireacht yeah, it's just you

  • i love mel :))))

  • whow!!!! inever seen thius video with darrel higam, amazin', and fabulous
