Is there much difference between this and the weaker MA237 (non-HD model)? Why would I need the heavy duty version? I have the Drift Stealth cam too. Thanks
By the way, I'm not sure if it's possible but maybe you could mount a Manfrotto 143BKT camera bracket at the free end to solve the camera rotation inconvenience.
@caesareor There is links to all this stuff in the video description. But just be aware that the arm can wobble a bit, which can cause rolling shutter in your camera. I talk about it more in the description.
I see you have an aftermarket speedo, did the factory one pack it in? I'be wrecked two in 40,000 km on one bike so I went with an aftermarket one too.
@atokarchik The aftermarket speedo was on there when I bought the bike. It's broken too. It displays mph, but the odo doesn't work. I was going to take it off and just use the stock stuff until I noticed my bike doesn't have a speedo cable on the bike. So I just ride and don't worry about it.
Thanks for explaining the rolling shutter problem. I had that appear on one segment of some bike video I shot, but didn't know what it was. I left it in claiming it was high-end special effects!
Enough bling already, Get out and do some more rid'in in the jungles. Preferably with a lot of bike drops, rivers and mud. Blood, some blood would be good.
Me want buy your woman. Me pay cash mony. How much for you sell?
Hi Ryan, to reduce the vibes, play with a bit of added mass clamped at different places along the flex arm. The mass when placed correctly will dampen the vibes. It will probably only work for a small range of vibrations/engine speeds/road speeds but once you work out the kinks it is worth the trouble.
@halfthrottle I have been wanting to get in to this for some time. I love the way you would go to a different place and just do a review on tasty treats, I plan to try a little of that there, and we will see. Takes a certain talent, not sure if I have it.
@bestofthelakestt If you are like me you will have to make a lot of crappy videos on your way to making good ones. Sometimes I still feel awkward in front of the camera, just keep practicing.
Flexible arms are nice aren't they. But like everything there there are limitations. I have been using RAM mount type stuff for several months now, which is similar in concept just a different clamp.
@halfthrottle I have! lol Im a photographer so I use Manfrotto stuff, If i do get it i will get it from the people i buy all my equipment from. The clamp is £24 in the uk, they dont have the arm will look elsewhere for that!
Could find some great spots on my Kawasaki to fit it but on the scooter ??? i don't know if i can fit it. The clamp is as you say pretty big , looks great though :-) Thanks for putting this up.

@simon44 I've never used the the other version. But I'd guess you want it to be as strong as possible, so it wobbles around as little as possible.
halfthrottle 1 month ago
@halfthrottle True. I'm just thinking if I can get away without paying the extra 50% for the HD model and will I use it enough. Anyways thanks.

@caesareor Yeah you probably could, but I think you want as little weight out there at the end of the arm as possible.

Cool! I was looking at the Magic Arm too but this is better (not to mention cheaper). Now if you'll excuse me, I have some online shopping to do. ;)
Cheers!!

Too bad my Contour doesn't have a threaded tripod mount built onto it. Very limiting, about the only place I can mount it is flat surafces.
MetalHeadKLR650 2 months ago
@MetalHeadKLR650 Yeah you have to buy a separate tripod mount for the Contour. Kinda lame. I think the newer ones come with it.
