@ytilibalaiava With all due respect - criticizing is one of the easiest things to do in the world. I would like to see a video of you playing piano as good as Ms. Kobayashi.
One of my fav polonaises on my fav piano, the Bosendorfer. Can't ask for anything better than that. And she really plays this excellently! I wish it were the entire piece though. But still well done. Brava!
i love the way she plays, but i hate the way she moves. it's too much. i think if she would be still, she would play even better. those movements are so exaggerated and most asians play that way so it must be their style, but it's all acting and looks awfu and distracts from the piece since it gets your attention. why do they do those exaggerated movements at the piano? it's like tennis players when they scream all over the tennis courts. wtf????????????????? shut up! and you, be still!
I wanted to tell you that you have inspired me a lot. I am 9 years old and I play the piano. I recently performced the Chopin impromptu that I have watched you play here on youtube many times. Thank you for posting it, it was really helpful for me when I
@wammer2000 Thanks for your nice comment, but I must make it clear that this clip was not posted by Aimi. It's from a recital that I helped to arrange for her in Japan. We are all looking forward to the day when Aimi posts her own clips on YouTube!
Realmente hermoso, que benditos son los talentos de algunas personas, me siento feliz de tener el don de escuchar para deleitarme con el don de otros :D
heroique is really great!!!!! I have never heard that passionate dynamic heroique before. really really good. and waltz no.14...fantastic!!! I can't believe really really she played this?? it is the greatest rendition of this piece i think....better than any other famous adult pianist really!!!!! please whole heroique video!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!she is the best
@nomang3996 -- whole héroique video? It'll happen one day, but I'm so busy! It'll be on another YT channel. It was Aimi's first and so far only public performance of this piece, and it does have some . . . imperfections. But certainly it was a spirited and brave performance. The waltz and mazurka were very good, period.
Wow! I'm working on this and I'm nowhere near this level, and probably won't ever be. At least she has large enough hands so that she doesn't injur herself. How old is she here? She has amazing talent. Probably the best I've seen on YouTube. Some parents push their kids over the edge, but she seems to enjoy playing and is very happy and satisfied. I'm very happy for her. She's lovely.
Could you imagine if we had such footage of Chopin or Liszt? We are all so lucky to have Aimi, and future generations will love her as we do. Presently, she is a beautiful young woman and her playing is beyond compare. Can it get any better than this?
I saw her in Brazil concert last year, and she is so charming, cheerful and charismatic interacting with public, like this video.
Even without understand anything what people say, cause our language is so different from japanese language, she was always smile and trying to communicate through gestures.
Off course, she is very incredible in her performance, as always.
Very happy to see latest Aimi! Thank you, Aimi, for being an inspiration to my little daughter Annie and no doubt many other aspiring pianists (musicians) all over the world. You are magnificent.
I am so happy to see this video. I always look with eager anticipation in receiving any Aimi's latest performances. Aimi's mystique and charisma never wear off. The Polonaise in Ab is heroic and sparkling and the Valse (Posthumous) is ethereal, exquisite and elegant. Aimi's phenomenal success and her ability to communicate her feelings to the audience is so extraordinary, it is almost surrealistic.
It has been so much fun watching Aimi grow both physically and musically through her videos. This tea party video is like icing on the cake---the first opportunity to see her in a real social situation. What a charming, delightful young woman she has become at 14!
Now if we in California only could have the opportunity to hear her in person!
As always Aimi was brilliant with her performance, but it was really wonderful to see her interacting with her audience and eating '''Cucumber????''' sandwiches. I have never tried that but will do so now.
Absolutely right, Lalita, because it was a traditional English Afternoon Tea (with caps). BUT she ate the cucumber sandwich **after** playing, so I don't know . . maybe that's the secret. Apparently Aimi isn't allowed to eat much before a concert, which is why she had to be fed all those cakes afterwards!
Aimi is of course a wonderful, sensitive, powerful musician of the highest order, but this video also makes it clear that her personality sparkles as much as her musicianship. Aimi has grown from an adorable child prodigy to a beautiful young musician. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for sharing this wonderful young girl with all of us. It is a pure pleasure to hear her perform, and yet, she is a very caring person and adores her fans. I never will grow tired of listening to her. I looked up Martha in one of my prodigy books and I had no idea that she led such a troubled life. I love her performance of the Rachmaninoff 3rd, d minor concerto. She is absolutely wonderful.
Thanks for sharing this video... Aimi proves to us that she is a "normal" young girl... and that she can make wonderful things with such little hands !!!

just completely pretentious and fake! She is like a processed robot that is trained to move, not authentic soul at all!!

You will be in history!
And yet it's nature's mystery...
That both your hands are like the rest,
But still your music is the best!
Though no one knows what makes you so,
Your smile, your sound, the way you glow;
It's all so elegant, you see...
And still, it's nature's mystery.....
