Saturn was in fact graphically inferior to the PS. The console had two processors for graphics because Sega added 3D capabilities at the last minute to be able to compete with Sony. Because of the dual processors it was very difficult to program for and also was not able to do transparent 3D graphics. They lost tons of 3rd party support since PS was much easier to program for and was more capable. Sega rushed everything as always and paid the ultimate price after the Dreamcast.
Saturn was and still is awesome! Panzer Dragoon Trilogy, Die Hard Arcade, Virtua Cop 1 and 2, Virtua Fighter 1 and 2, Daytona, Burning Rangers, Nights, Resident Evil, Tomb Raider, Bomberman Online.
I got to buy me that system. I never even got the exposure to get on it and I kinda wanted to get my hands on it despite being a Nintendo fan. And yes, I do find it a good system as well.
I would absolutely reccommend it, my warning being of course that a lot of the best games on it are rather expensive these days, Dragon Force and Burning Rangers run you up to about $60ish a piece, Nights and other classic games are priced reasonably though. It depends somewhat on how deep your pockets are.
