I have 2 of them, they need at least 800 RMS to get to full potential.. I had them hooked to the 1200.1-II-z amp on a 1ohm.. ran like that for a few months, started getting too hot, being its only a 2ohm stable amp.. got the 1400.1 now.. still pushing 1200 RMS to them.. 2 years later still running strong..
the JBL p1222 amps are 400wrms right and am guessing that you have the coils wired so the amp sees a net 4 0hm load and the jbl gto 1200.1 produces about 747wrms at 4ohms so thats like double the RMS wattage so does it handle it with ease or does it have trouble and do you know anything about the JBL GTi's series cheers.

i hate prefabricated boxes....and jbl specs suck...i put in a 35 cm port instead of the recommended 28...reborn, the sub started playing low and hard...try it on win ISD or BassBox..ull ifnd the results suprising, i mean to what your box is tuned right now
Hey mate just got my self one of the jbl 1201.1 amps just wondering if you had any troubles running it of your car bat as mine wont even turn on with a 4 gage wireing kit but it well turn on with a 1000watt wireing kit do i need a due cell battery or what
can u pleaase give me the specs for this box? by this i mean the dimensions

I love those amps, I'm thinking about buying another one here shortly and having 2 of them running a set of alpine typeX 12's.
