  • pete was doing that on stage and put a whammy bar threw his hand. lol he pulled it out and kept playing what a trooper XD

  • @whatthebollocks I think there used to be a video of that on YouTube but its been ages since I last saw it. Pete's the man.

  • @guitarmike26 ikr? he's an awesome guitarist

  • Well done! That's how a windmill SHOULD be done!

  • @MintyModF1 Haha thank you! I wish I had hit them all but they still came out well.

  • U ROCK

  • @Nicopolidis Haha, thank you!

  • dude awesome!

my friends and i are doing a who cover [my generation] and im trying to get this down

it looks like your actually getting the pick to hit the strings over the neck and not the body?

but awesome man! hopefully i can get it by then!

  • Yeah that is how I do it. I find with the natural length of my arm, its virtually impossible for me to hit the strings over the pickups. I think Pete Townshend wears his guitar lower than I do so he can hit the strings a little closer to the pickups. Be prepared to bang up your hand somewhat but its worth it in the end.

  • @TheLazyPunk pete townsend would curl his pick in and just use his hand almost as a cheese grater to the strings

  • i keep trying to do this but i always get really scared im gonna really hurt my hand!

  • I know the feeling, that's how I was at first. It took me a while to get the windmills more up to speed but I did cut my hand pretty well in the early stages. I've definitely left some blood on that Strat in the process.

  • ok...lol cool. i suppose i could wear a glove or something and then slowly move along

  • Yeah I found the most important thing was to build up your accuracy so that the chances are less and less of hitting the guitar. Its worth it in the end, its a fun way to just show off a little bit!

  • school project? hahah

  • Believe it or not, it really was a project. We were making an autobiographical movie focusing on something important in our lives. For me, its guitar and music in general. Funnest assignment I've ever had!

  • lol best project i ever heard of

  • The ceiling looks kind of low...

It's hard because you have to not be afraid to hurt the guitar.

  • The ceiling isn't quite as low as it looks but my hand did get pretty close. That guitar has gotten pretty beat up over the years so I wasn't too worried about hurting it although I have cut up my hand a few times doing those windmills. Still fun to do though!
