haven't hear this since 1970-71. I know my bro' and I played the album over and over and over and over and over again. what must have my mom and dad thought of the sounds coming through our bedroom door? Lights out. Stone cold sober, yet riding on clouds of excitement. Big grins. Life is good. Larry Young Larry Young--1st exposure. Unbelievable Larry Young. Forever rememberd for this contribution. Nice bass, love it. Perfect.
I saw a concert on tv a few days ago ( don't know when it did actually take place, probably some years ago) where there was John and Carlos (Santana) and Steve Winwood and Herbie Hancock and Wayne Shorter......Good stuff
LOL -- it's unfortunately hilarious to hear the clumsy Buddy completely ignoring the fact that the opening figure is in 7, just plodding along in the 4 he's safe with ... that aside, how wonderful to hear this again
@DoctorPatient Dang if you do not perfectly describe Buddy. I just used the term "plodding" also on another clip from this album. Don't you see he is a genius: play 4 beats over 7. The downbeat repeats after 28 counts!
2:24 to 3:8 is pure bliss, music from the heavens.

always reminds me of looking through the glass at local swimming baths from cafeteria, as this has a watery distorted feel to it

It's sad to know that the general populace is unaware music can even sound like this. It's a real slap in the nuts...
