There is very little originality left in music, but plenty of good stuff still around (apart from in the charts and on X Factor), mainly through blending earlier influences. Just make the most of it!

theres alot of originality, all groups a put together form the soul interest of its members, they make the music with their own spirit and no one else, if you open those squinted eyes a bit, you can find your "originality"

Let's agree, first, that we both like this music -that's the important bit. The "originality" I was referring to was in response to rystrttn's comment re the Velvet Undergroung "rip off". Mine was just a statement of the current scene which is mainly derivative but blended from a range of different influences ,and there's nothing wrong with that. The "squinty eyes" you refer to might apply to others but not to me. But then you were writing out of context ,in the style of a bullshitter.
