Hm, interesting videos, pretty nice, helpin the kids stretch their imagination. Also I liked that not all the kids voiced and that they were speaking and signing. Also i realize this is 20 years old, so many things have taken places since then. Overall it's nice. But, the signed English w/voicing is kinda hard to watch, I mean, compared with ASL. All the initialized/made up signs..and making all the kids voice-guess it is easier(lazier)on the part of people around the children just to speak
as opposed to learning sign language. That's life though i guess. I do like in the end with the dictionary and the mom learning more signs, that was good. In the end, for a child who is Deaf or Hearing Impaired, as you said, if they go around speaking and lip reading, that's only a small percentage of communication, as opposed to signing, they can get 100%. Sure give them all options, but in the end, can English be their language?! When it's mostly a one way communication? Interesting stuff..
