I always defeat the Puffstool with just Olimar when I play through the game. That way, I don't have to run the risk of getting the Zombie/Fungus/Black Pikmin.

The Puffstool can be deadly if you have no idea what it does... The first time I saw it, it turned all of my pikmin into mushroom pikmin and completely destroyed me... Also, I hate how in the first Pikmin game the Sheargrubs and the Shearwigs are invincible while eating pikmin.
