Your day and instruction seem seamless. Thanks for this inspiration and positive view of homeschooling. Beautiful job in setting a routine! Your curriculum seems well-rounded and just right for your children's needs. Way to go Mom!
Your video makes me wish I could leave university and become a homeschooled kid!!! Seriously, how many kids could ever say "I painted King Tut's treasure chest today", or "I built my own radio", or "I have lunch with my brothers, then we went to the park while other kids were in a loud classroom being annoyed by 20 other kids"???
@easyhomeschooler They are old cassette tapes that I need to throw away because some of them get swallowed up in the cassette player. It was NIV Zondervan. There are other ones that are free online.
@homemakingwisdom If you look at my Electronics Experiment YouTube video (scroll down on my videos to find it) , my husband typed in the name of the exact kit that we used. If you google that name, you can compare prices online and maybe even buy it used.
Your house is so quite during school time. lol! How did you manage that one? Its not crazy over here but there is always the backround babbling of my toddler.
Math is quiet because each child is in a separate room; they are trying to beat the clock to finish their math before breakfast. Naptime (or reading time) is quiet because we've always had complete silence after lunch. Those are the only times that it's quiet around here. When I filmed the painting of the Egyptian treasures, I told them I was about to record, so they got quiet while I was filming. Also, I don't have toddlers any more. But having 3 boys and a rowdy girl makes for a loud house.
@SusanCEvans Yeah Boys make for an interesting day. My boy is in the middle so I had the girl first. I had know idea how boys were. I am glad I homeschool with boys though cause they get to learn the way that best for them even if that means they wiggle all over the place or want to do everything outside. lol!
Holy Cow, you put Public Schools to shame, good for you!!! YOU GO! Cannot believe that 5 year old and her reading and writing. God Bless you!

I explain how I taught my children to read in the article "Reading and Writing: the Early Years" on my website.

What did you use to teach your kids to read?

Love that scripture coloring in the box chart thingy, lol! did you come up with that on your own?
MyLilTribe 4 months ago
@MyLilTribe I got it from Cindy Rushton, but you can easily make your own with a pencil and paper, and then photocopy it for your kids.
