Has anyone ever noticed that whenever CM is about to do a big performance like a famous celebrity, he continously tilts his head on one side to another?
Hahah, I know this one from the Dutch Sesame Street. Never knew it was a shoutout to the Beatles.. cos, well, for one, I saw it in Dutch. And I was just a little kid.
Fun to see it again (in English) after all those years XD
They were sued anyway, too bad. This is my favorite Beatles parody ever! Weird Al wanted to do a parody of Live and Let Die by Paul McCartney and Wings. It would have been called Chicken Pot Pie. He Said no... too bad, that would have been the BEST parody ever!
Paul McCartney doesn't wanted to be connected with animal food, In fact, he's a vegetarian, that's why he didn't gave the permission. Even he's a fan of Weird Al. But anyway, I read, Weird Al's singing the song on his concerts.
About this song, it's funny, a very good Hey Jude parody.
You can't be sued for doing a parody. Parodies are protected by the 1st Amendment. Weird Al knows he doesn't need permission, but asks anyway out of respect for the artist.
He didn't allowed it, even he's a Weird Al Yankonic fan, because he didn't want to condone animal food, Paul is a vegetarian, by the way like Al. But I read, Paul enjoys the Sesame Street parodies like Letter B, I'm sure he enjoyed this one too.
Haha this is great! ^^ I remembered 'Letter B' but not this one. But I bet there's no way that they'd get away with showing this today, they're not wearing saftey helmets and didn't once refer to the foods by the politically correct term "Edible Americans" :-O haha!!LOL
Excellent. Nowadays though if they put this on air, someone would complain that it promotes eating when you're depressed. No doubt Sesame Street would have a lawsuit on their hands from some fat kid's mom, who blames the kid's weight on the fact that cookie monster said it's okay to eat when you're "feeling bad".
I never noticed Sesame St. being all about food...i mean besides any skit with cookie monster in it xD in reference to downserpent's comment, things back in the 80's and stuff were alot different. Kids were ALOT more active and ran around outside alot more. I'm not saying that kids can't do that now, it's just that things were also safer back then. So obesity can't soley be blamed on Sesame St lol. (: and i luv this song lol.
Yeah back then it was all about getting kids to eat...but now with all these silly video games and computer stuff, kids are getting fat, and because of that, we can't even enjoy simple TV shows anymore.
The main voice of Beetle 1 is Christopher Cerf. He's the writer of such songs as "Put Down the Duckie," "Born To Add," "Letter B," and this one. He is also an author of best selling political books. The voice of beetle 2 is Richard Hunt. He also voiced Scooter, Statler and Forgetful Jones. He passed away of AIDS in 1992.
Classic Sesame Street. This is why the show had to spin off into the Muppet Show, and several muppet movies! Too good to simply be lobbed over the heads of 5-year olds on Saturday morning!
I find it hard to believe that no one has yet commented on the final image of this clip. Right at the 2:09 mark. Please tell me I am not the only one that sees that. I know that sometimes a cigar, is just a cigar, but COME ON!
Man, you talk about memories...I remember watching "The Beetles" singing "Letter B" and six year-me asking which one was John Lennon in December 1980 or January 1981.
Yes Hey Jude became Hey food. I have also heard a racist song called Hey Jew. That was hilarious since the racists sounded like real dorks who needed singing lessons badly.
i love the fact that all of them have Lennon glasses...and i love the "yum yum yum" part instead of "na na na na" about mid-way through the song...lmao...I also love the "Letter B" song (take off of 'Let it Be') lol
Yeah. Notice how they both seem to have different qualities of Paul McCartney's voice. Combine the two voices, and I'll bet you get a voice sounding exactly like Paul's.
also the lead beetles even mimic john and pauls guitar stance, one left and one right handed love the details, even the beatles were spoofed on the dudley moore episode of the muppet show
Thanks SO much for sharing this one, sawing14s. I remember seeing this when I was little, along with "Letter B," and being horribly confused when I heard the actual Beatles songs. :) It's awesome to see this again.
