  • Funny Parody!

  • Has anyone ever noticed that whenever CM is about to do a big performance like a famous celebrity, he continously tilts his head on one side to another?

  • How funny!

  • I used to love The Beetles on SS. As you can tell by my bg and icon I am a huge Beatles fan. Best group ever.

  • Only "hey food" and "yum yum yum yum" are any close to Hey Jude.

  • n tem piada

  • Hahah, I know this one from the Dutch Sesame Street. Never knew it was a shoutout to the Beatles.. cos, well, for one, I saw it in Dutch. And I was just a little kid.

Fun to see it again (in English) after all those years XD

  • i know huh?it looks like he drank three.

  • This must have led to tons of eating disorders

  • oh comeon, its a fucking childhood show, dont get all pissy because its the wrong tune. fuck.

  • lol this was funny and adorable

  • ahh genious hehe loved this show when i was little hell still do now.

but did any one else notice the big yellow penis at the end?

  • It would be funny if they did Ob-La Di

    XD

  • hey assholes it's a parody!!! not a perfect cover xD

  • Very cute! Hey Jude is such a sweet song!

  • I think the wacky drummer accidentally had the decaf instead of his usual quintuple-espresso.

  • They were sued anyway, too bad. This is my favorite Beatles parody ever! Weird Al wanted to do a parody of Live and Let Die by Paul McCartney and Wings. It would have been called Chicken Pot Pie. He Said no... too bad, that would have been the BEST parody ever!

  • Paul McCartney doesn't wanted to be connected with animal food, In fact, he's a vegetarian, that's why he didn't gave the permission. Even he's a fan of Weird Al. But anyway, I read, Weird Al's singing the song on his concerts.

About this song, it's funny, a very good Hey Jude parody.

  • You can't be sued for doing a parody. Parodies are protected by the 1st Amendment. Weird Al knows he doesn't need permission, but asks anyway out of respect for the artist.

  • He didn't allowed it, even he's a Weird Al Yankonic fan, because he didn't want to condone animal food, Paul is a vegetarian, by the way like Al. But I read, Paul enjoys the Sesame Street parodies like Letter B, I'm sure he enjoyed this one too.

  • because paul's a vegan and objected to the use of meat in his spoof. but he's still a big fan

  • It's not there any more

  • This really sucks! I made a parody called Hey Food! >:( Go to webook and look up "98.3 the Crap" And read chapter 1 it's in there.

  • I like the Billy Idol spin off "Rebel L", hilarious!

  • better than oasis

  • Hey, I like Oasis :[ haha

  • Hey!!! What was that yellow thing that popped up on the screen after the song?!?! Was that some sort of subliminal message? LOL

  • LOL...It is supossed to be the number 1.

  • Disgraceful! Where were the piles of cookies?

  • how much would it cost them for the rights to use the real tune?

  • They didn't use the real tune. They messed it up BIG time.

  • i chew on a piece of bread, or a raspberry tart.

    XD

WE EAT IT UP! AND DRINK IT DOWN!

    Better, better, better, better, omnomnomnomnomnomnom.

    YUMMY YUM YUM.

    HEY FOOD!

lol yes, it was like the first 2 words, then WHAT HAPPENED?!?

  • I guess they just didn't want to totally copy the classic Beatles' version.

  • I think it would be copyright problems

  • this is soo sweet!

  • I love cookie monster!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The music wasn't even close to Hey Jude.

  • No kidding, just the first 2 words and that's it. What happened?

  • They always try to change the song a bit, to be somewhat original

  • they would've been hella sued if it was any closer.

  • so sweet :D I love Cookie monster he's so handsome :D

  • Aww this is adorable. I never saw this one before.

  • Haha this is great! ^^ I remembered 'Letter B' but not this one. But I bet there's no way that they'd get away with showing this today, they're not wearing saftey helmets and didn't once refer to the foods by the politically correct term "Edible Americans" :-O haha!!LOL

  • OMG. . . I remember Letter B but not this one! This is even better! better, better, better better oooooh!

  • This is so funny!! So is Letter B!!!!!

  • When I grow up ...i am gona be a muppet.

  • i have always loved cookie monster

  • does anyone have a way of sending me an mp3 of this track?

  • This is so adorable! <3 :D

  • Hahaha

  • Excellent. Nowadays though if they put this on air, someone would complain that it promotes eating when you're depressed. No doubt Sesame Street would have a lawsuit on their hands from some fat kid's mom, who blames the kid's weight on the fact that cookie monster said it's okay to eat when you're "feeling bad".

  • but that is kinda bad though... :\

  • chris cerf is an amazing singer

  • John lennon muppet is actually playing like he did in the early sixties

  • PURE GENIUS!

  • yumi yum yum! yumi yum yum...genial!!!

  • wooo! go cookie monster! that's what i'm gonna sing now when i see food ;)

  • No idea why the george harrison Beetle is playing the piano.

  • Yeah, Beatles Rock!! Like the Muppets' mop-tops!!

  • Cookie monster is just as lovable even though he sings out of tune.

  • Its great when they go beserk at the end

  • I never noticed Sesame St. being all about food...i mean besides any skit with cookie monster in it xD in reference to downserpent's comment, things back in the 80's and stuff were alot different. Kids were ALOT more active and ran around outside alot more. I'm not saying that kids can't do that now, it's just that things were also safer back then. So obesity can't soley be blamed on Sesame St lol. (: and i luv this song lol.

  • Yeah back then it was all about getting kids to eat...but now with all these silly video games and computer stuff, kids are getting fat, and because of that, we can't even enjoy simple TV shows anymore.

  • I feel like crying. This is amazing.

  • Hope they don´t get sued by McCartney alleging similarities between this and Hey Jude...altough the melody is not the same, ha, haaaa

  • This pretty much sums up my life.

  • Vafan! The beatles äger dom hära ju !

  • ahahaha. love it!!!

  • "Hey food, when we feel bad, we chew on a piece of bread, some veggies, or a raspberry tart... and then we start to feel much better"

I blame Sesame St. for all obesity problems in the modern age ever.

(Slightly more seriously, what's up with the theme of this song?)

  • lol, especially now that Cookie Monster says cookies are a "Sometimes food"

  • "Yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum!"

  • Oh. This is lovely.

  • there is a stricking resembles of these beetles to the fab four from liverpool england

  • jesus christ, i thought "Letter B" is one of a kind

  • Sometimes I wonder if the keyboardist had a neck problem since he keeps on stretching.

  • Haha. He's just feeling the groove that's created. Haha.

  • The main voice of Beetle 1 is Christopher Cerf. He's the writer of such songs as "Put Down the Duckie," "Born To Add," "Letter B," and this one. He is also an author of best selling political books. The voice of beetle 2 is Richard Hunt. He also voiced Scooter, Statler and Forgetful Jones. He passed away of AIDS in 1992.

  • Classic Sesame Street. This is why the show had to spin off into the Muppet Show, and several muppet movies! Too good to simply be lobbed over the heads of 5-year olds on Saturday morning!

  • wow! that's the kind of thing you'd hear somebody with an eating disorder singing -

"Can't put you down, we munch on some cheese and pot8oes, and we feel better!"

  • omg the drum falls off at 1:52! :]

  • That is hysterical

  • greatest beatles cover ever.

  • First time i've seen cookie monster eating something other than cookies lol

  • bestest ever in the history of sesame street beetles doing parodies of songs called hey jude

    seriously though its so awesome

  • love it when Paul and John are singing in each other's faces at 1:59.

  • I think that's George (when he sings, it sounds like George to me...)and Paul singing in each other's faces. John's in the back on the keyboard.

  • Watch the drum fall off the stage at 1:52. It's hilarious! Ringo elbows it off.

  • It would have been kick-ass awesome if the Beatles really had red, Ramones-style hair like that.

  • Oh....my God...no.

  • I find it hard to believe that no one has yet commented on the final image of this clip. Right at the 2:09 mark. Please tell me I am not the only one that sees that. I know that sometimes a cigar, is just a cigar, but COME ON!

  • Quite. Does anyone know what it actually is?

  • it's supposed to be "Hey Jude" by the Beatles

  • Lets hear it for compulsive comfort eating! cute vidoe and song...

  • AMAZING

  • Watch the floor tom on the drumset fall @ 1:52.

  • Ha ha! What a pretty song!

  • Rock on!

  • I can only assume that they had a serious case of the munchies ;-)

  • hahaha, YES.

  • OMG classic! i remember watching this when i was a tyke! xD

  • god i miss the beatles

  • me too!

  • Mmm! (:

    Cute! (;

  • SO FUNNY

  • Yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum...

  • This is honestly the most entertaining thing I've ever seen. <3

  • Not hey food, Bye FOOD

  • 2:09 are they trying to tell me something?

  • 'Gimme more gimmie more!'

:O More scaldalous than 'Paul Is Dead!'

  • what happened?

  • Man, you talk about memories...I remember watching "The Beetles" singing "Letter B" and six year-me asking which one was John Lennon in December 1980 or January 1981.

  • O_o must've been awkward...

  • where's that clip of the muppets singin about how hot it is? "could fry an egg on the cement it's so caliente"

  • Yes Hey Jude became Hey food. I have also heard a racist song called Hey Jew. That was hilarious since the racists sounded like real dorks who needed singing lessons badly.

  • what is ringo plaing on

  • How adorable is this!? :)

  • Did anyone also notice that the drumset didn't have The Beetles logo? By which I mean that firework pic with the groups name in the middle?

  • ever heard "Hey Dude" by Beatallica?

I was ON THE GROUND howling!!

  • i love the fact that all of them have Lennon glasses...and i love the "yum yum yum" part instead of "na na na na" about mid-way through the song...lmao...I also love the "Letter B" song (take off of 'Let it Be') lol

  • Chrisopher Chef and Richard Hunt works so well Together.

  • Yeah. Notice how they both seem to have different qualities of Paul McCartney's voice. Combine the two voices, and I'll bet you get a voice sounding exactly like Paul's.

  • also the lead beetles even mimic john and pauls guitar stance, one left and one right handed love the details, even the beatles were spoofed on the dudley moore episode of the muppet show

  • What's really funny is that, knowing the muppet performers had to work backwards in motion, having the guitar 2 different ways would have been tough.

  • Thanks SO much for sharing this one, sawing14s. I remember seeing this when I was little, along with "Letter B," and being horribly confused when I heard the actual Beatles songs. :) It's awesome to see this again.

  • I actually think 'Hey Food' is at least as good as 'Hey Jude.' I may be alone, though. ;)

  • You're not alone! lol

  • Was that real bread Cookie Monster was chewing on? Looked real to me.

  • I noticed one thing before Cookie Monster started eating everything in sight:

The Beetles' drummer accidentally knocks one of the drums off the side of the drumset.

  • Well spotted - I didn't notice that before! :D I guess they thought that take was too funny not to use. :)

  • Yeah, I bet they thought: "Ah, forget it. We'll just air it that way. We're near the end of filming anyway."

  • Awesome! Thanks for posting this one! It's one thing to hear the song, but to see the video is great! I love "The Beetles"!!! :-)
