  • For some reason I will always consider Catch For Us The Foxes to be their greatest album. The album is just so mellow and yet so intense at the same time. I love it. And the lyrics to this song are phenomenal btw. Aaron Weiss is a genious.

  • they show definitive growth and progression

  • It looks as if the "step higher" key seemed to stick. It's the same key as the CD.

  • Yeah, I'm kind of curious to hear what the original version was like.

  • Even though a lot of people miss his old stuff from A->B Life, he said a recent interview in Louisville my friend went to that he'll never perform any A->B stuff live again because all that music was inspired from a time when his faith was very confused and angry. He said he was ashamed of it almost and won't perform it anymore.

  • That's very understandable, but I wish he could just get past that, and accept how he was back then, and appreciate it, because that stuff was amazing, i'm sure it helped a lot of people, despite how negative those songs can seem

  • they've just gotten sweeter with age. :)

  • Some bands just "get it". and they, not only "get it", they made it.

  • they still are VERY unique poeticsuicde... but the only thing is they take "unique" to a whole new level of uniqueness in music that i dont think happens very often. not only are they a unique band amongst every band out there, but every new album that they come out with has been unique from the last album... and still sounding amazing along the way

  • I like the difference in the real lyrics and the ones performed in this version.

  • Wow, I wish he sang in that octave at the louder part for the album version. I would've traded the modulation for that any day.

  • i've listened to some of the new songs. love and hate. i miss their being so unique before. not that they've sold out, it's just not what i fell in love with

  • i would have to agree on that as well. i liked the live version of this song better solely for the reason that he puts more emotion into this one in an A>B life fashion that is so dearly missed. i think it's just that he's getting older and perhaps happier, so now he doesn't have that same angsty scream to his newer songs.

  • I think that's what happens with most musicians. They get older, mature, and just aren't as angsty as they once were. Maybe it is just because I am getting older along with the band but I think I may have liked each album progressively more. They each betray a depth that isn't apparent on the first listen.

  • agreed. im still that angry teen so im a bigger fan of the older stuff but i mean the new cd makes me happy when i listen to it. you cant be mad forever

  • @chrisgurule To be honest I like it more when he doesn't scream he has a great voice.

  • Maybe we should all go do really mean things to him so he gets sad again and writes even better music.

  • I think they are still unique. It's just a change that they wanted to go through. The main thing about being a musician is you should play what you love. I guess he just started wanting to more acoustic stuff. I listen to a lot of death metal and hardcore and shit and old mewithoutyou was a transition for me in a way but I love their acoustic stuff now. It's just somethign to listen to when I'm really calm or tired.

  • @poeticsuicde thats what good musicians do. they change over time. it would be pretty boring if they didnt progress in sound over time

  • @poeticsuicde I would have to respectfully disagree I think the realness they have has only grown more. And Aaron has maintained his deep moving lyrics. But to each his own.

  • @poeticsuicde sold out? are you insane? i want to hear your thoughts on album 5. mewithoutyou can't disappoint.

  • "Your true dad is not me"

"But your father is the light within all that we see"

  • It's a Padparadscha ring. Its an orange pink sapphire

  • This is my favorite song on the album. It came out today and ive been listening to it non-stop. It's absolutely beautiful.

  • I agree man, it is beautiful :)

  • this song rips me to shreds, so beautiful.

  • couldn't agree more.

  • Has anyone seen the lyrics for this song? Geez. They are utterly amazing. Probably the best I've heard in any song.

  • His lyrics for the few new songs I've heard by them seem to express his faithfulness towards god far more overtly.

  • hopefully the shift in vocal and lyrical style won't be a step too far

  • His beard is amazing, and he always like shaves and then not shaves, and yeah.

He still dresses semi-homeless, it expresses his perspective on riches. And, beards are so great, dawg.

  • its all crazy, its all a false, its all a dream, its alright

    Release Date: 4/7/09

  • may 19th d00d

  • sounds so raw. Hell Yeah!!!!!!

  • Aaron shaved!! yay!!

i want to run away with this man. i didn't really like his "i'm-a-homeless-guy" phase though...

i'm more a fan of his "i-walked-away-in-the-middle-of-a-conversation-and-hitchhiked-across-several-states-and-ended-up-naked-in-a-canal" phase...

  • the new album has been scheduled (and rescheduled) once for April and May of this year :)

    i'm beside myself haha

  • He's just a guy.

  • i love aaron....he's awesome. and i think we can all agree that what we all like here is his charisma...but for me personally...the new sound is disappointing.

  • agreed

  • will they release a new album?

  • This is great. I have one of their new songs recorded as well, but I don't want to post it because I don't want to give away their new album before it comes out *COUGH*.

  • haha yeah. but it's too good to keep to myself! :/

    i can't wait.

  • wait but when is there new album coming out????

  • I am guessing sometime this year. Probably around summer and all. When I saw them in 2008, they said they were going to finish up recording in August, so I couldn't imagine it could take too much longer since that was August 2008.

  • it's supposed to be release april 7

  • Thank You So Much!!!

I was searching for this song after i had heard it a few months ago, then just remembered it now! Thanks!

    Thanks etotheli as well!

  • i love how passionately he sings, this has made me so excited for the new album. i really can't wait.

  • Thank you! I transcribed the lyrics to this song and posted them on songmeaningsDOTnet . They're not complete, it's tough to transcribe lyrics from youtube vids! I saw them in Dallas, but was too caught in the show to try to memorize anything. hah :) Anyways, check them out if you'd like.

  • "The Beetle King In The Coconut Shell"

  • do you have the vids from the encore at STL?

  • Jeez he shaved!

  • Thanks for posting this one. The picture quality is better than the one I posted.

  • you're welcome. my buddy went to the show at the foundry. i would have probably gone had there not been one in saint louis the next night.

  • They've played this at both of their shows in Kentucky...it already almost brings me to tears, amen to their new album, it's almost to much suspense to bear.

  • Not sure if this song has an official title yet, but I think it's being refered to as "Beetle King". I can't wait for their new album. Thank you so much for posting this! If you have any more mwY vids, please share!
