  • 1:18 "Spiderman? Who dat??" *LEAP!*

  • beautiful?...i would have fucking bitch slapped this spider

  • I HATE spiders!

but this one is kinda cute.

  • beautiful jumping spider

  • what was the noise in the background?

  • I love jumping spiders <3 Great vid too c:

  • That mother fucker looks poisonous. >.>

  • are you german ??

  • How would you feel if that spider jumped on your face ???!!

  • I've always wondered why, but does anyone know why they move in a jerking motion? For that matter why do a lot of smaller animals(lizards, birds) move with jerking motions?

  • This is about the only kind of spider that doesn't creep me out. They are playful too.

  • Not poisonous at all. Very small, friendly, even playful. They don't bite unless attacked.

  • a big one of these almost bite me today when I was trying to pull the weeds out of my rose bush -_- are they poisonous???

  • what the....i blinked and it was gone o.o

  • imagine if that was our size we would be fucked

  • thank god our spider here in Germany can't jump :D but that one looks really cool ;) greetings from Germany.

  • Dude these r awesome! And the camera is great!

  • i remeber in 4th grade we saw this creepy spider and this kid came over and he said "dont kill it! its a rare african jummping spider" to wich i replyed "u do know we livev in alaska right?"

  • I don't really like spiders that much but jumping spiders are really cute with their big eyes.

  • Anyone notice the Rorschach on the back of the creature? That spider sure is awesome.

  • @PharlaTheDragonness I use a relatively inexpensive waterproof Sanyo Xacti. The manual macro feature is nice though the zoom is not very smooth. I do recommend this camera though, especially the waterproof model. ~Kurt :-)

  • @softypapa do these spiders bite?

  • @fernandogt90 They won't bite you. They're totally harmless to humans. In fact, I've found them to be quite friendly.

  • @Jaeger7793 sweet

  • @fernandogt90 Nasty bite!

  • @softypapa Is your camera the Sanyo Xacti CA9???

  • haha, jumping spiders are soooo cute

  • I thought it was illegal to own guns in Japan. Who would be using the gun range?

  • @KriegderFeuer Some people do possess guns and judging from the numerous cars I often see at this range it seems shooting is very popular. Some farmers have rifles and as this is a farming community perhaps many of the ranger users are farmers. I think that the range also rents guns for use at their facility. ~Kurt :-)

  • @softypapa Oh, pardon my ignorance. Thanks for the reply. By the way, keep up the great work!

  • that is such a cute spider!!! i love jumping spiders!!!

  • I <3 jumping spiders. I'll definitely have to look for that camera when I have income again. That's the same one that's waterproof, right?

  • @WaruiTanuki Yes, this is the waterproof Xacti (model # DMX-CA9). I recommend a backup battery. A good case is also a good idea as the camera has not lens cover. Also be sure to read the tip from JoeCubicle which I included in the info section of this video as this information will help you unlock the close-up potential of your Xacti. Happy video taping! ~Kurt :-)

  • These little guys are my favourites, they are very intelligent and with patience you can actually tame them quite a bit. They are very aware of their surroundings and extremely curious... I find them very charming!

  • ok wow but that a weird looking spider to say the lest

  • What was that loud banging?

  • @darkwolflord The sounds you hear are from a nearby gun range. Thank you for watching. Kurt :-)

  • Kurt, thanks for the kind words. You should have seen me when I discovered the 'Manual Focus' macro trick (not really a trick). I almost used special words.

Let's not forget that You are the one going out in the bush getting the footage, kudos to you for the adventure you bring.

    Joe 'Macro-Maniac' Cubicle

  • @JoeCubicle Thank you for your nice words and for allowing myself and others to learn how to improve the capability of our Xacti cameras. For the money these cameras must be one of the best values on the market. Thanks again and have a great week! ~Kurt :-)

  • This is the next National Geographic episode.

  • Kurt san if you create a 24/7 Tv channel, i'll be there watching it 24/7 XD

  • Awesome! Jumping spiders are my favorite kind of spider....I like to think they have more character or something.

  • @olivesarethebest Thank you for watching and sharing your thoughts with us. I really like your description of "character" with regard to jumping spiders. I agree that there is something about them which we humans can relate to better than say a spider sitting in the middle of a web. The curious way JS have of moving about and examining their surroundings as well as their sense of caution and attraction to what catches their eyes is all very familiar and recognizable to humans. ~Kurt :-)

  • Very AWESOME!

Joecubicle ROCKS! Pat is such a great guy :) He is a wise man with great advice!

  • @jlandkev I agree that joecubicle is THE MAN! He has turned my pretty good camera into an micro-world exploring, hard-rockin' HD machine! Thank you so much, Pat! ~Kurt :-)

  • I can appreciate spiders but they give me the creeps! But this one is kinda cute...

  • Really sweet. I got bitten last summer when I got to close to a japanese spider here in Kyoto. Damn spider ruined my foot for a couple of days. Really nasty little creatures. Nice vid btw, and sweet focus.

  • @mrErikLundgren Hello Erik. :-) I recently discovered your channel when BusanKevin made a video talking about you. I really enjoy your videos and am delighted to meet you via the magic of YouTube. I'm sorry to hear that a spider caused you some pain and injury last year. I hope that your foot is better now and that you are out and making new music to share with us. I will be watching for your uploads. I hope we can meet sometime. ~Kurt :-)

  • I think you are very good at filming animals. You should do documentaries!

  • Wow it really said "Boing" when it jumped away!

  • What a neat spider, thank you for sharing.

  • Geez, I would not be getting close to a spider like that!

  • Thanks for sharing that email Kurt! I love my Xacti and am really impressed on the quality and this gives me something more to love about it! Awesome ^_^

  • My brother & I used to catch these as Kids!

Thx, softyPapa for old memories! ; )

  • I love jumping spiders. Absolutely adorable spiders.

  • whoa & he's outa there haha

  • Holy crap, how did you hold the camera that close for so long. I hope it's not a poisonous spider. amazing shot.

  • @pestr999 Great question! I was able to make this video thanks to a special manual focus feature on my Sanyo Xacti camera. If you have a Xacti then please see the info section for details of how to use this feature. Like all spiders this Jumping Spider is indeed venomous, however it's fangs would likely not penetrate a human's skin. Danger from spider bite is also related to the strength of venom which varies from one species to the next. Thank you for watching! ~Kurt :-)

  • you get some truly beautiful shoots

  • For a second there I thought the spider would turn and jump on you but it didn't. xD I hate spider LOL
