i wish there were more episodes of Lucy worked at the diner, its much more interesting than her typical romance gon bad storylines they gave her character
Lucy sure didn't inherit her parents personality! But I like her like this. She probably got her spunk, blunt and somewhat practical ways from being spoiled by her grandparents.
But earlier in the series, shortly after Jock's death, John Ross sits in his grandfather's chair during dinner and JR remarks, "He really is a Ewing, that's for sure."
I realize I'm beating a dead horse. You'll notice as you watch more of 'Dallas' that inconsistencies like this pop up from time to time, as if the writers have never seen the show.
@DaBearsRockMySox That's not true because they did a paternity test in season 3 when Cliff Barnes was suing for custody. They did tests that confirmed that JR was the true father. If anyone knows why JR would have said that I myself would love to know.
@DaBearsRockMySox After watching this again, I think his comment I don't consider him a Ewing "yet" could mean that he's just a child still. That's all I can come up with.
Lucy sure believes in good honest work. The minute Eddie finds out she's a Ewing, she promptly quits her job ~ very responsible. Valene would have been proud, NOT!
Lucy still had her 5 million Jock left her in his will. She was bored and didnt know what to do with her life so she tried a real job were Valene used to work. That guy she met at the restaurant was really nasty looking Mitch was much more handsome. They should have had Lucy marry omeone else in the oil business instead of always having someone who was poor and proud or poor and a user. I think Her charactor would have thrived if they gave her a good story line as she matured
J.R doesn't count John Ross as a Ewing yet? Nor anyone else that just had their name changed? lol. What a total ass he was. :-0

Gotta love how Sue Ellen was so much nicer to Jaime than JR was.
The restaurant owner should have just let Lucy and Betty fight it out, it probably would have brought in some extra customers.

Oh man Jr was such an a**hole, didn't even consider Lucy a Ewing anymore just because she married someone else. Lol. Oh the power of a TV show. :-)

Jamie who? Think the script writers couldve a written a little more spunk into her.
"Well, what's next? Are we gonna cap her teeth?"
Sure why not? Make sure it matches the white in your hair! Ha ha ha ha.

I think that Jaime was supposed to be a Lucy replacement, but it didn't work out.

JR was a better villain than Dr Smith,Archie Bunker,Frank Burns,Cartman, and Nellie Olson combined.

I love JR and the way he played the Villain.

If I recall this s/l correctly, early on, the whole family (except Sue Ellen) was suspicious of Jamie, not just J.R.!

Why would JR say he doesn't consider John Ross a Ewing? What the hell does that mean?????
jksonny 2 years ago
he wasn't old enought to be cut-throat like JR so he wasn't a ewing--just a child

that's true--forgot about that. chalk it up to bad writing
delidude1999 2 years ago
Obviously, that's nit-picking but inconsistencies like that bug me.
jksonny 2 years ago
@jksonny because early on he wasn't sure if john ross was his because sue ellen had an affair
DaBearsRockMySox 2 years ago
But he knew John Ross was his at the time and was devoted to him.

I was not crazy about Jamie either. As much as I wanted to see them explore Jock's family Jack and Jamie did not do that.
Jamie was a moocher who claimed not to want anything from them.
The presence of Jack and Jamie did not answere any questions about Jock's past or his family.
